We had the good fortune of connecting with Cheree “shuga Rae” Bell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cheree “SHUGA RAE”, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
“When I first started my promotion and marketing company, my primary goal was to promote my music and support other independent artists. As I gained more experience, I realized that a significant part of effective promotion and marketing involved having high-quality videos and photos to showcase a brand and present artists in the best possible light.

This realization led me to shift my focus towards creating video promos for businesses and producing music specifically tailored for business needs. To further expand my services, I obtained a drone license, allowing me to offer aerial video services. My ultimate goal has always been to help businesses and entrepreneurs present themselves in the most compelling and professional manner.”

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
“I’ve been in business for over five years now, and through a lot of promotion and networking, I’ve been successful with private hires. The drone business is really starting to take off, and I believe that’s where most of the growth will happen.

One of my key motivations has been to create a business that can hire special needs students I work with. This desire to help others has given my business a unique edge. It wasn’t easy starting a business; there were many things I didn’t know and mistakes I made. Even today, it’s challenging as I haven’t yet reached my business’s full potential.

The lessons I’ve learned along the way are to keep going, continue helping others, and trust that things will work out. My story is about resilience, support for the special needs community, and the drive to create meaningful opportunities for everyone.”

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
“I love nature, so I’d take them on a scenic road trip up to Washington. We’d camp at beautiful spots in Northern California, Oregon, and Washington. During the day, we’d enjoy fresh seafood, fly the drone to capture stunning landscapes, and in the evenings, we’d socialize and meet new people at local spots. This itinerary would offer a perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, and great food.”

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
“I would like to dedicate my shoutout to the Most High and my family for giving me the strength and courage to pursue my dreams. Additionally, I want to give a special dedication to the special needs population. Working with this community has been a profound inspiration for me. It has motivated me to run a business that can hire from this population. I teach vocational skills to special needs working-age adults, and one of the primary reasons I started my business is so I can provide meaningful employment opportunities for them.”
