Meet Yamilex Gonzalez | Nail Artist : @Eyecandyxnails

We had the good fortune of connecting with Yamilex Gonzalez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Yamilex, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking risks is about learning and gaining a deeper understanding of yourself in uncomfortable, high-pressure situations. Regardless of whether the outcome is a loss or a win, each experience offers a new perspective. In most cases, it’s about strategically taking a chance.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am most proud and excited about being able to have fun while working and providing others with a service they will enjoy, along with a piece of art they can wear with them.
The reason I am where I am professionally today is due to my consistency in learning, practicing, and continuously exploring my craft. There was a difficult time during my college years when I couldn’t do nails, but I stayed in tune with the industry and knew what the next big thing was. It’s all about commitment, it’s important to find additional ways to explore your craft, even if you’re not fully engaging with it.
I want people to know that Eyecandy Nails is ready for anything and here to encourage others to tap into their creativity through nails, art, and fashion.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a huge thanks and shoutout to everyone who has been part of my journey as a nail artist. A special thank you to my Tia Dora for pushing me into an environment where she knew I would not only succeed but also thrive and enjoy every moment in the beauty industry.
