We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexandra Gasia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexandra, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my pet services business was a deeply personal decision. After decades in healthcare, I experienced burnout and realized I wanted to keep helping others but in a way that truly resonated with me. My 14-year-old Yorkie, who has been with me through every chapter of my life, showed me just how much love and attention pets need. I saw firsthand how difficult it can be to find reliable, personalized care, and that’s what inspired me to create PawsomeBud. I wanted to offer pet owners the same level of trust and one-on-one care that I expect for my own dog, ensuring their pets feel safe, loved, and well cared for while they’re away

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
PawsomeBud is all about giving pets the kind of care I’d want for my own dog ..personalized, one-on-one attention that makes them feel safe, happy, and loved. What sets me apart is my commitment to truly understanding each pet’s needs, routines, and quirks, so they feel at home even when their owners are away.

I’m still learning and pretty new to the business, but I’m confident that I’ll achieve all my goals. Starting from scratch hasn’t been easy, building a client base and figuring out all the details of running a business takes time. But I stay focused on why I started: because pets deserve the best care, and their owners deserve peace of mind.

One of the things I’m most excited and proud about is the seasonal Photo Booth I created. It’s a fun way for pet owners to make cute memories with their pets, and it’s also allowing me to dive into other interests like photography while growing my business.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that passion and consistency go a long way. Building trust with pet parents takes time, but when they see how much I genuinely care for their pets, it makes all the hard work worth it.

What I want the world to know is that PawsomeBud isn’t just a pet service it’s a promise to treat every pet like family. Whether it’s a daily walk, an overnight stay, or a fun Photo Booth moment, I’m here to make sure they’re happy, safe, and well cared for

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Day 1: Coastal Ride & Coffee
We’d kick off the trip with a bike ride from Marina del Rey to Santa Monica, soaking in the ocean breeze. Along the way, we’d grab coffee and a bite at Little Lunch, a cozy spot with great vibes. For a quick stop, we’d swing by Washington Blvd in front of Ralph’s and Ross to enjoy the best tacos in the city. Then, we’d head back to Venice Skate Park to watch the free show—skaters, rollerbladers, and dancers in action. After that, we’d relax by the beach, catch some surf and sports, and watch the sunset. To wrap up the day, we’d go back to the pier for drinks, choosing between Hinano, The Whaler, and Nalu Vida.

Day 2: Cultural Adventure

We’d explore Beverly Hills Hollywood Chinatown, Japantown, and Koreatown, diving into the different flavors and cultures of each neighborhood. Lunch at love2 eat and For dinner, we’d hit Dang Sun Sa, an amazing spot with a fun, lively atmosphere—perfect for a crazy night out!

Day 3: Malibu Escape

A morning stroll along Malibu Pier followed by a hike to Escondido Falls—not too intense, just enough to enjoy the beauty of nature. Afterward, we’d cool down at El Matador Beach, one of the most stunning spots in LA. Dinner would be at The Old Place, where the rustic charm and legendary crumble pie make it a must-visit.

Day 4: Sunday Market & Venezuelan Comfort Food

We’d spend the morning at Mar Vista Farmers’ Market, my favorite Sunday tradition. The highlight? Hands down, the best arepa in the world from The Arepa Stand! While we’re there, we’d pick up fresh produce, incredible coconut milk, and, for dessert, those irresistible mini pancakes.

This is just a taste of how I’d show my best friend around—plenty of great food, beautiful sights, and unforgettable experiences!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a big shoutout to my partner, family, and friends for always having my back. Their support and encouragement mean everything, they’ve pushed me to believe in myself and go after my dreams, even when I’ve had doubts. Every step of this journey, they’ve been there cheering me on, and I couldn’t be more grateful..
