Meet Chris Suchánek | Marketing Agency Founder & Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Suchánek and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chris, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I see risk as a necessary catalyst for growth, not something to fear. When I started Firm Media in the middle of an economic downturn, I knew it was a gamble, but I believed in my vision and the value I could bring. Taking calculated risks has always been part of my journey—whether launching new services, expanding into new markets, or stepping into podcasting. I don’t take risks blindly; I assess, adapt, and move forward with confidence, knowing that playing it safe rarely leads to meaningful progress.
Beyond business, risk has shaped my leadership, relationships, and philanthropy. I’ve taken chances on people, ideas, and opportunities that others might have avoided, but I’ve always trusted my instincts. Whether setting high standards for my team, pushing the limits of what’s possible in marketing, or giving back through Project Boon, I’ve learned that the biggest rewards come from stepping into the unknown. For me, risk isn’t just part of success—it’s the price of innovation.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started Firm Media in 2008 at my kitchen table with $2,000, a business card, and a phone line—right before the economy took a major downturn. It wasn’t easy, but instead of retreating, I saw an opportunity to build something different. Through persistence, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to client success, Firm Media has grown into a nationally recognized, award-winning agency specializing in marketing for specialty medical practices. We don’t just run campaigns; we create real partnerships, using time-tested strategies and cutting-edge solutions like OmniBlend™ Advertising to drive measurable growth for our clients.
What sets us apart is our commitment to excellence and the level of service we provide. Our clients know they’re not just another account—we immerse ourselves in their business, helping them achieve long-term success. I’m most proud of the team we’ve built and the reputation we’ve earned, but I know success isn’t a straight line. There have been challenges—economic downturns, industry shifts, and the constant evolution of digital marketing—but every obstacle has been a chance to learn and improve. The biggest lesson? Consistency, adaptability, and delivering real value always win. I want the world to know that Firm Media isn’t just a marketing agency; we’re a partner in growth, and the best is yet to come.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting for a week, I’d make sure they got the best mix of amazing food, great entertainment, and unforgettable experiences. We’d kick things off with dinner at Grill the Goat, where the flavors are bold, and the atmosphere is just right for catching up. Another night, we’d go for an elevated dining experience at The Little Door, a hidden gem with incredible ambiance. For a more laid-back but top-tier meal, Nuno’s Bistro & Bar never disappoints, and if we’re in the mood for a stunning rooftop view, Perch LA is the go-to spot for drinks and city vibes.
For entertainment, we’d catch a show at the Pasadena Playhouse or the Center Theatre Group, depending on what’s playing. Nothing beats live performances in an intimate, well-produced setting. For some high-energy excitement, an LAFC game is a must—the atmosphere is electric, and it’s an experience that sticks with you. Of course, at some point, we’d need to slow down and just enjoy the city, which means a stop at Urth Caffé Downtown or Pasadena for a Spanish Latte—because that’s non-negotiable. The trip would be a perfect balance of great food, culture, and energy, making for an unforgettable week.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My amazing wife, Ana Karina, has been my rock—her support, love, and belief in me have been invaluable throughout my journey. I’m also grateful for a very tight circle of accomplished friends who have stood by me through every challenge and success. Over the years, I’ve had several mentors who have shaped my thinking, challenged me to grow, and helped me refine my approach to business and leadership. And finally, The E-Myth Revisited has been a game-changer for me, reinforcing the importance of systems, vision, and working on the business rather than just in it.
