We had the good fortune of connecting with Glenalyn Ann and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Glenalyn Ann, looking back, what do you think was the most difficult decision you’ve had to make?
Quitting my full-time job to do freelance creative work.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Getting to where I am today wasn’t easy. Like many creatives, I faced challenges—learning the business side of things, investing in gear, and building a network. All things I was not told how to do in high school or college. But I’ve always believed that consistency and adaptability are key. I overcame obstacles by staying persistent, refining my skills, and constantly pushing my creative boundaries. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that talent alone isn’t enough—relationships, professionalism, and being open to learning are just as important as having the skill to do something.

I want the world to know that my work reflects my dedication and passion. I’m always evolving, looking for new ways to innovate and tell stories through my work. Whether I’m working with businesses, artists, or individuals, my goal is to bring their vision to life in a way that feels authentic and powerful.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Funny enough, I’m a HUGE homebody so I very much choose to stay in than go out. However, I would say going to a museum in the city is always a fun adventure. As a creative, seeing other artists’ work is always an honor to see and you never know if their work will inspire your next piece! Places like the Broad, MOCA, OCMA, Museum of Motion Pictures, LACMA, etc. are all great places to go!! As for food, I LOVE BUNKER21 in Artesia, the best Korean fried chicken I’ve ever had 🙂

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely! My journey as a photographer and videographer wouldn’t be where it is today without the support and influence of a few key people. First and foremost, my family—who always believed in my vision, even when I was just starting out and figuring things out along the way. Their encouragement gave me the confidence to pursue this path and turn my passion into a career.

I also have to give a huge shoutout to my mentors and fellow creatives who have inspired and challenged me to push my limits. Whether it was through collaborations, advice, or simply seeing their work ethic, they’ve played a big role in shaping the way I approach my craft.

Lastly, I’m incredibly grateful to the community of clients, supporters, and brands that have trusted me to bring their vision to life. Every project, big or small, has been an opportunity to grow and refine my skills. It’s a constant journey, and I wouldn’t be here without the people who have been a part of it.
