Meet Wen Lin | Master of Ceremonies, Host

We had the good fortune of connecting with Wen Lin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Wen, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursued an artistic and creative career because I believe in the power of storytelling and live performance to bridge cultures and foster meaningful connections. As a master of ceremonies and bilingual host, I collaborate with various organizations and foundations to produce and present live events and shows. My work has allowed me to engage global audiences through television programs, as well as to produce and host a series of interviews featuring guests from diverse backgrounds, exploring the intersection of art and society.
I have had the opportunities of hosting prestigious ceremonies at venues such as Hollywood’s TCL Theatre and international cultural events like the United Nations UNICEF Charity Concert. These experiences have not only refined my stage presence, adaptability, and expressive abilities but have also deepened my commitment to integrating cultural arts into media productions.
I received a Master of International Affairs with a specialization in Technology, Media, and Communications from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. Additionally, I pursued an intensive acting program at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, which further enriched my understanding of performance and artistic expression. Studying and working on both the West Coast and East Coast have given me a broad perspective on creative storytelling and deepened my passion for exploring diverse artistic landscapes.
Through my performances and creative endeavors, I strive to celebrate cultural diversity and bring the beauty of artistic expression to a wider audience.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I founded the venture: Star Champs Media. Our mission is focusing on building performing arts understanding, engaging with artists community, and appreciating cultural diversity.
The venture offers three core services:
1. Planning and organizing performing arts events. These events create memorable experiences that promote appreciation for cultural heritage, encouraging ongoing attendance and sustained interest in the arts.
2. Producing Interactive Digital Content: We create engaging videos, interviews, and vlogs that take viewers behind the scenes of the creative process. We invite online followers to join in and explore the diversity of performing arts.
3. Facilitating Community Dialogues: We host seminars and discussions where artists and guest speakers can share their experiences. This creates a diverse performing arts community and encourages connections and collaborations.
We are passionate about building a community where artists, audiences, and creative entrepreneurs can come together to inspire and collaborate. We would like to invite you to join this journey—whether through funding, sharing your talents, or participating as an audience member.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am passionate about museums, arts, and exhibitions, and I have even produced a series of short videos on the topic of visiting museums and exhibitions. So, I would definitely want to take my friends to explore some of the incredible cultural and artistic landmarks in LA and Orange County. Some must-visit spots include The Getty Museum, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, the Arts District, Bowers Museum, and Huntington Library & Botanical Gardens, etc..
Of course, no trip to Southern California is complete without a visit to the beach! I would recommend Laguna Beach, especially during the summer when it hosts fantastic art festivals like the Sawdust Art Festival, Festival of Arts of Laguna Beach, and the Pageant of the Masters. Another great option is Dana Point, where we could try stand-up paddle boarding, surfing, or even go whale watching for an unforgettable experience.
I would also invite my friends to visit my undergraduate campus, UCLA, and explore the surrounding Westwood area, which is full of restaurants and cafes. Nearby, we could visit Beverly Hills for some sightseeing and shopping, and a walk along the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Also can check out some live performances at The Hollywood Bowl or Walt Disney Concert Hall.
Overall, the week would be filled with art, culture, and nature —an experience that captures the vibrant and diverse spirit of Southern California!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to express gratitude to my high school English teacher, Mrs. Topalovic, and my speech teacher, Mrs. Brasher. Mrs. Topalovic provided tremendous support as I adapted to a new environment, patiently guiding me through the challenges of learning in an ESL setting. Her encouragement and dedication helped me gain confidence in my language skills.
Mrs. Brasher played a pivotal role in inspiring me to speak up and practice public speaking. Through her guidance and countless hours of practice, I became a finalist in the Coast National Forensic League State Qualification Expository Speech Contest. Her mentorship ignited my passion for public speaking and storytelling.
Inspired by these incredible educators, I later became a bilingual speech tutor, helping local elementary school ESL students develop their confidence in speech. I coached them through speech exercises, encouraging them to find their voices. The moment one of my students took the stage at a speech contest and won a trophy was an unforgettable experience. It was not just about her achievement—it was a profound realization of how education has the power to transform lives.
I am deeply grateful for the teachers and mentors who have shaped my journey, and I hope to continue passing on their encouragement and support to others.
