Meet Abigail Van Hoak | Business Owner & Entrepreneur | Royal Court Entertainment

We had the good fortune of connecting with Abigail Van Hoak and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Abigail, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I have always been a very business orientated person and started several small businesses pervious to this. Additionally growing up I was very involved in theater so when I started off working for another princess company it was the perfect job for me. However, I soon realized that I was quite limited being just a performer and felt that I had what it takes to start my own. I felt that I had something to bring to the table seeing as I am a young entrepreneur. My previous experience helped me when it came to designing my website, logo, social media, and promotion. Of course there was definitely a learning curve as there were many new components I had to learn as well but it was all worth it and I had so much fun building it.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is Royal Court Entertainment. We provide high-quality character entertainment for kids birthday parties and events. This includes characters like princesses, superheros, mythical creatures, and more! I think what sets us apart the most is the fact that I bring a younger more fresh energy to the industry. I feel that this particularly helps with promotion, social media, web design, and more. Communication is also one of the big things that we are often called out for being extremely quick and responsive to those who reach out. I place a huge importance on response time because I know how much that means to people booking. I got to where I am today through a lot of hard-work and perseverance. Doing this all on my own has not been easy but very rewarding. I want people to know that this is not just another small business but much more as it is very near and dear to my heart.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I owe everything to my family as they have always been incredibly supportive of me throughout the years. I come from a big family but we are all so close knit and connected. My dad taught me so much about business and becoming who I truly am. He encouraged me to work hard, do well in school, and constantly challenge and push myself to become a better version of myself. My mom taught me so much about love and caring for others as she was always there to comfort me and be there for me. My sister taught me strength and how to protect others as I am always there for her.
