Meet Alec Tomas

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alec Tomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alec, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
In professional wrestling, we take extreme risks when it comes to putting our bodies on the line. But we also take major risks when it comes to the sacrifice and commitment it takes to succeed in this business. Every big moment in my career happened because I took a risk, stepped far out of my comfort zone, and dedicated all of my energy into creating that moment. I have wrestled through many injuries and sacrificed a lot of time away from my family in order to live this dream. But I will continue to take those risks because I love what I do and nothing can replace the feeling of performing in the ring.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have been chasing my dream to be a professional wrestler since I was 5 years old. It is incredibly tough to make it as a wrestler. I struggled a lot in the beginning with injuries and also getting opportunities to get my name out. However, I have learned how to take care of my body by training in the gym at least 6 days per week. I have a very strict diet and have dedicated a lot of time and money towards my health. As far as networking and getting my name out, I have met a lot of great people in the industry who have connected me with the right opportunities. My proudest accomplishment yet was becoming the inaugural Southern California Cruiserweight Champion. I am the first Armenian wrestler to win that title. My goal is to continue to win more championships across the nation and spread my culture on a big stage.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I think even if you are not a wrestling fan, I encourage everyone to go to a live wrestling show at least once. There are many great shows in the LA area, and everyone that goes to a show for the first time tells me how much fun they had. Being in that environment makes you feel like you are part of the show. And of course, it’s always great to bring friends and go out to eat after the show when you are full of adrenaline.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The two most important people to me are my parents. They made me the man I am today and provided me with everything I need to live an incredible life. I also want to shoutout Joey Kaos and the entire Santino Bros Wrestling Academy. They turned a kid with a dream into the pro wrestler I am today. I am very grateful to be surrounded by family that encourages me to chase my dreams also teaches me to have the right work ethic.
