We had the good fortune of connecting with Christopher Underwood and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christopher, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Our thought process was having complete freedom over our time and finances. It’s harder to have that working a job.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Music is our main artistic expression. We come from the 10,000 hour club. It’s extremely evident when people see us play our instruments. I play drums and piano. Christian plays bass and electric guitar. We are extremely proud and excited about our debut EP coming out this year after working on it for so long. We got here by persevering and staying the course, Keep our vision very clear. We don’t look at as easy or hard.. We look at as something that just has to be done. It is what it is. We’ve overcome challenges by remaining calm and thinking critically. There have been a lot of learned lessons. A big one was learning that even if things do not happen at the pace that you project that they should, keep going because you’ll be glad you did. We want the world to know that it’s cool to put time and effort, into your craft when the world seems to be obsessed with shortcuts and instant gratification.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Two places that we for sure most go to are Verse LA in North Hollywood and Nobu Malibu. We’d also have to go hike in Griffith Park and catch a concert at the Hollywood Bowl.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We are going to shoutout a few people. First, we want to shoutout our Mom and Dad. We come from a family of music. They put instruments in our hands at the age of 3 years old. Our father plays guitar on some of our records. Also we want to shoutout our Manager, Jonathan Azu. He has been instrumental in our development. From putting us up in his house as we transitioned from Memphis to LA, to pairing us up with Cory Henry to work on our debut project, Azu has poured into us in a major way.
