Meet Kenni & Rio Productions | Production Company

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kenni & Rio Productions and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kenni & Rio, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
We are Kenni and Rio and we are newly engaged! We thought this was an interesting question because we taught ourselves how to navigate building a life and a business together with balance at the center of it all. Over the past 7 years, we have spent a substantial amount of time together running our business and growing as a familial unit.
The way that we decided to establish some structure is by committing to utilizing a calendar and mapping out the short-term and long-term outcomes we want to achieve. Over time, we learned to reverse engineer our lives and focus on needle-moving activities to make the most of our time. We see this as an important skill to have as it helps us balance mind, body, and spirit. Balancing your mind, body, spirit, and your partner’s mind, body, spirit, while balancing a business, family, and home life is complex. There are multiple dualities involved with each and right now, we make it a constant practice to balance the harmony between them all! This change has had the biggest impact on our lives overall. In the past the focus was not on the harmony, the focus was on the grind. It’s hard to discern what’s needle moving if you never take a chance to slow down to view what’s in scope.
It’s important as entrepreneurs to feedback into yourselves because oftentimes as creative entrepreneurs, you and your team are the only ones who see the vision like you do. So, it’s very important to stay grounded in yourself and in your beliefs if you want to remain balanced.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Our favorite projects allow us to get involved with the creative design of the production environment. We love creative problem-solving to help bring our clients’ respective vision to life. We treat our clients like members of the team promoting a team-like chemistry before projects even begin. Hospitality is one of our core values that enables us to create safe spaces for our clients’ creativity. We love to see people’s inner-selves show on camera because oftentimes people have a wall up as they navigate their day to day lives. Our sessions give people the chance to take a deep breath and let their true essence shine.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If a good friend of mine was visiting the area during the summer, I would take them on a week long extravaganza of the random activities we enjoy! In the beginning, we would choose a soft activity such as taking a nice walk around the belt line while having a wide variety of food options to choose from. Somewhere in the middle, we would choose a slightly more active activity like tubing in Helen, GA not far away from where we stay. In the end, we would take them to do something fun and enjoyable where they can see the city skyline such as the rooftop of Spaceman.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Safire Rasool (IG:@Safiredancer) has been pivotal to our growth and development as artists both individually and collectively!
Mycala Baker (IG@Mycalabaker) someone who’s always been there since the beginning and one of our biggest supporters!
Dee Johnson (IG@DeeJohnsonPhotography) a true inspiration and mentor!
And everyone we’ve met in the Atlanta community since starting our journey in the city!
