Meet Solomon Ngo | Founder/Creative Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Solomon Ngo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Solomon, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I started Solgo Atelier with a clear vision: to create beautiful clothing that reignites a love for fashion, boosts confidence, and brings joy to people’s lives. With 20 years of experience in different areas of the fashion industry, I collaborated with well-known brands but often felt that those roles constrained my creativity and vision. I wanted to establish an American mid-range contemporary clothing brand that enhances work-life balance through stylish fashion.
My goal is to offer customers clothing that helps them look and feel extraordinary. We strive to provide fashion-forward selections that cater to a variety of occasions, all while emphasizing exceptional quality. In addition, we focus on sustainable pieces that maintain their value and appeal over time. At Solgo Atelier, we take pride in our commitment to creating clothing that meets aesthetic needs while supporting a conscious lifestyle.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
At Solgo Atelier, we are a women’s contemporary fashion brand that operates exclusively through our e-commerce platform. We specialize in luxury, transitional clothing designed for the modern woman who seeks a balanced work-life lifestyle. Our commitment to quality is reflected in our use of high-end materials, exceptional craftsmanship, and the production of our items in small batches. This approach ensures both quality and exclusivity, enhancing the durability of our garments and guaranteeing that our customers feel confident and comfortable in any setting—whether at work, at home, or while socializing.
I take immense pride in my business, having built Solgo Atelier from the ground up by investing my heart, soul, passion, and savings into it. Committing fully to something allows me to embrace the journey, regardless of the outcome. Although I am currently facing challenges, I am dedicated to overcoming them. My resilience is strong; I have navigated numerous obstacles and have always found a way forward.
My greatest achievement has been transforming my dream into reality by launching my current clothing collection. The versatile styling, exceptional quality, and dedication of every team member involved in bringing each product to life exemplify our collective effort and commitment to excellence. The road to success is never easy, and I have faced my fair share of hardships and setbacks. However, I continue to persevere, believing that as long as I give it my all, that alone is a success.
I want the world to know that at Solgo Atelier, our mission is straightforward. We aim to establish an American mid-range contemporary clothing brand that enhances work-life balance through stylish fashion. We strive to provide our customers with the opportunity to look and feel extraordinary with our fashion-forward selections at competitive prices. We pride ourselves on the exceptional quality of our products, designing clothing suitable for a variety of occasions while also offering sustainable options that are built to last.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I haven’t gone out much since I started my business but Southern California is a beautiful place with the best weather. We have warm sunlight and some of the most beautiful beaches. Therefore, for sure we would visit Point Loma, Coronado, and the Gaslamp district in Sandiego. In Los Angeles, where I reside, we have the Getty Center, Catalina Island, and Santa Monica Pier. Some of my favorite places to enjoy food include Momo Paradise for Japanese hotpot and Guzzu Bento-Ya for delicious Japanese-American bentos during a quick lunch. These are just my personal preferences, as I primarily eat Japanese cuisine.
However, there are so many varieties of food here in Southern California. I particularly love Chinese dim sum in the San Gabriel Valley and fresh seafood at Santa Barbara Pier. Aside from sightseeing and food, we can always visit Disneyland since most of my friends have young children. Universal Studios would be another great place to add some excitement, along with the charm of being near Hollywood.pot, and a quick lunch grab at Guzzu Bento-ya for the most delicious Japanese-American bentos. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Yes, definitely. My mom firstly for being such a great model when it comes to perseverance and commitment when it comes to work ethic. Secondly, my best friend for over 20 years has always been there to provide me with all the help I needed without me having to ask and who has been a great mentor to both my life’s decisions as well as in business. I just wanted them to know that I appreciate them and that I am very thankful for having them in my life.
