We had the good fortune of connecting with Iveth Rodriguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Iveth, what role has risk played in your life or career?
For me, risk is a mix of temporary feelings. I’ve come to realize that making mistakes is part of the process… I mean, what’s the worst that can happen? I used to get stuck even before hearing no, and that held me back, kept me in my bubble.
As creatives, there are times when we doubt our work and our vision, and that makes us question whether to take the risk. But I’ve found that taking those chances opens up opportunities and incredible doors that I wasn’t expecting at all.
Having a dream takes courage. It’s not always easy, and not every risk will be worth it but somebody has to find out what’s behind those doors.
For me, there’s no point in living a life where I don’t try. Life is about risk, and sometimes playing it safe doesn’t feel much of a life, the trick is say yes to life. Trusting our vision is the key, because if we don’t believe in our own movie, no one else will. The first step has to come from us.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My name is Iveth Rodriguez, and I’m a Mexican creative director. My art is rooted in giving voice to stories that deserve to be seen and heard. I studied filmmaking, and I’m passionate about bringing genuine stories to life, ones that feel human and create real connection, with the hope of sparking change within ourselves.

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been obsessed with music, not just becuase of the sound, but the energy it gives, and how it connects with people is just amazing. Honestly, I don’t know what we’d do without it. Music is there in every mood, every memory, every stage of life. And it was through music that my creativity first came alive.

As a creative director, I’ve found my space in the music industry. A world where I can explore visually and narratively. And once I stepped into it, I knew there was no going back. One of the projects I’m most proud of is a recent music video I directed for Fido, an Afrobeats artist. From the very first day of prep, something about it felt different. Everyone involved brought something special to the process and it felt like a spark. I’m proud of how it turned out, and I truly believe it marks a new chapter in my career. I’m excited to keep growing and to see how people connect with my visual voice.

Getting here hasn’t been easy. There have been doubts, creative blocks, and the challenge of finding my place in an industry that can be overwhelming and uncertain. But staying positive and reminding myself that art is subjective has helped me keep going. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that success is a subjective concept. You have to define it on your own terms, not by what others expect.

I’m here to create work that resonates, that inspires, and that connects. I want people to feel something when they see what I create, to recognize a piece of themselves in it, or to see the world from a new angle. My journey is still unfolding, and this is just the beginning. I’m always learning, growing, and dreaming bigger than ever and I’m so ready for the new journeys life is preparing for me.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting the city for a week, I’d start by taking them to grab a latte at Alcove in Los Feliz it’s one of my favorite spots. It is a vibe and the brunch is honestly so good. Depending on the mood of the day, I’d tailor the plan to fit. But based on my good taste, one of my favorite things to do is explore nature and LA definitely delivers on that. We’d spend an evening at the Griffith Observatory, watching the stars and the city lights. It’s one of those rare moments where everything just feels still. Or maybe we’d take a sunset drive to Malibu, sit by the beach, and let the sound of the waves take over. Those kinds of moments feel like a reset, completely inspiring every single time.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
It’s hard to name just one person. I love the fact that everyone who has stepped into my path has taught me something, in one way or another, and helped shape who I am today. During my time in Los Angeles, I’ve met friends I’m truly grateful for. Some of them I even consider mentors, because there’s really no other way to describe the wisdom, honesty, and creativity they’ve shared with me. I admire them deeply, and I carry their words with me.
But if I had to give the biggest shoutout to someone, it would be my dad. He’s the foundation of everything. If I were a building, he’d be the ground I stand on. He’s been my support, my guide, and the one who taught me to think big, even before I knew how to dream that way. When I was a kid, I’d sit and listen to him talk for hours. I didn’t always understand everything, but now I see how those conversations planted a mindset in me. He showed me how important it is to have a strong vision and to trust my talent. And because of him, I learned to keep going, even when things felt uncertain. The funny thing is, he’s the one who doesn’t always understand what I do now, my career, my gigs but even so, he believes in who I am. His love and support have been there since day one. And that’s something I carry with me every single day.
