We had the good fortune of connecting with Kyee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kyee, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is having God as my partner. My journey is built on faith, consistency, and staying true to who I am. I show up even when its hard to , i work to stay focused, and put in the work—but it’s God who guides my steps and brings the right opportunities into alignment. Ive been working on not moving out of fear or pressure— but moving with purpose, trusting that what’s meant for me will never miss me. I believe every win is a reflection of both discipline and divine direction.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart is something that sets all of us apart—our unique voices, blueprints, and DNA. For me, what really ignites that uniqueness is my relentless drive to evolve and build on the lessons life has taught me, all while serving others. This is bigger than just making art—it’s about living with purpose. The more I love on God and stay grounded in that love, the more I can truly love and serve others. That’s when I feel like I’m shining in the truest sense, and fulfilling the deeper purpose that drives my creative journey. The things that bring the true wealth of this world—love, connection, authenticity—are what I pour into everything I do. It’s this blend of heart and hustle that fuels my artistry and my brand.

One of the things I’m most proud of is how I’ve learned to navigate life’s challenges and use them as fuel for growth. The pain that life sometimes hands us is what can birth our greatest strengths. I’m especially proud of finding my voice after losing it physically through vocal polyps, and having to relearn how to speak and sing. That was an intense experience, but it taught me the resilience and power of my voice in ways I never imagined. On a deeper level, I had to face my inner struggles—low self-esteem, rejection, depression—all the voices that told me my story didn’t matter. But I realized those are exactly the voices that need to be drowned out. Your story does matter. It’s how you live it, how you share it, and how you express it to the world that matters most. There’s so much power in being bold enough to show up

I’m also proud of how I’ve navigated being a multi-faceted creator and pivoting. There’s this misconception that being “all over the place” dilutes your brand or makes you less focused. But I’ve come to embrace the fact that my brand is a reflection of my journey, and that journey is multi-dimensional. I’m a business owner, a performer, a recording artist, a clothing designer, and a creative director. Understanding what it means to pivot and trusting that, has allowed me to grow and develop different skills and explore creative layers I didn’t know I had the ability to build on. Doing this showed me what else I was capable of and reassured me I was on the right creative path but. .I’m proud of how I’ve learned to wear these different hats and balance them. The key is to focus strategically on what needs attention at the moment, knowing God’s guiding me in each season. You can’t do everything at once, but you can trust the process and embrace the rhythm of your evolution.

It hasn’t always been easy. From vocal surgery to a life-changing car accident, to stepping into a new city and leaving my family behind—I’ve had to start over again and again. But every time I did, I realized I wasn’t starting from scratch. I was building on the strength of past experiences, using each challenge as an opportunity to seek deeper clarity. I learned to seek not just answers, but a deeper connection with God. I’ve also learned that creativity is an outlet during hardship. Writing, singing, creating—it became my way to navigate tough times. I’ve learned to keep dreaming, to keep evolving, and to keep creating. Fear will always show up, but I’ve learned that it’s usually the things we fear the most that challenge us to grow in ways we didn’t know we could.

I’ve also learned some big lessons along the way. One of the most important is that you can’t let the opinions of others hold you back from taking risks. I’ve had to learn not to let traditions or expectations shape my choices. The truth is, the more stillness you find, the clearer the answers become. If you sit on an idea too long, you lose momentum. So I run with my ideas, even when I’m afraid, because I know that’s how you make progress. And when I find myself making excuses, I check in with myself: “Am I afraid I’m not good enough? Afraid to fail? Afraid to be seen?” And when I answer those questions honestly, I reaffirm that I have everything I need. God will guide me, give me the words, and put me in the spaces I need to be.
Another lesson? You can’t be everything for everyone, but you can be the right person for the right moment. When you show up with authenticity, joy, and the belief in the power of your voice and presence, you have the ability to shift a room, a moment, or even a life. In a world where everyone is vying for attention, there’s something incredibly powerful about showing up and being a light, just as you are.

What I want my brand to communicate is this: You have the ability to carve your own path. You can stay true to who you are and know that you’re enough, just as you are. It’s about being unapologetically multi-faceted and recognizing that your purpose and destiny can collide in beautiful, unexpected ways. It’s never too late to evolve and dream. And above all, there is always power in your voice. I want the world to know that you don’t have to fit in a box—you get to create your own. Be bold, be resilient, and keep blooming, no matter where you are on your journey.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my bestfriend was here the first place i would take her would be the blue daisy cafe and then a part 2 brunch at poppi + rose. we would then go for a drive through malibu and hit the beach Then we would have to go find a musem to walk around or the dtla art walk and check out art . Then at night find a rooftop to lounge and catch up at like Perch or soho club. Sunday we would go to deeper church la and then the black flea market if they were in town . Walk around studio city and go to wasteland and then drive around and find a random place.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’m a firm believer that no one gets anywhere alone, and my journey is a reflection of so many people’s love, prayers, sacrifices, and belief in me. I give all glory to God—He’s been with me through every twist and turn. His presence keeps me grounded and aligned, especially when things get uncertain.

My Grammie and Grandpa and Mom are the ones who set everything in motion. They’ve been there from the start, helping shape my musical side, and their influence is a part of me in everything I create. They planted seeds that gave me soul, rhythm, and a sense of legacy that goes way beyond music—it’s in every piece of my creative journey.

My husband who i love dearly and i’m beyond grateful for. His unwavering support, the way he see the vision and trust it and believes is clear. The sacrifices made behind the scenes… it means everything.

My sister is my heart. Her love is endless, grounding, and healing. She reminds me of who I am when I forget, and she’s always been a safe place for my dreams to land and grow.

I’ve also been blessed with mentors like Dr. Latanya Moore, KeAndria Perez, Dr, Thando Sibanda, and Chris Ferguson. Mentors whose insight and prayers have helped me see from new angles and step into deeper versions of myself. They’ve challenged me, uplifted me, and reminded me to keep showing up—spirit first, always.

And then there are the books that have helped me unlock whole new dimensions of my artistry and mindset: The Artist’s Way, The War of Art, and The Four Agreements. Each of those shifted something in me, called me higher, and gave me tools to move through resistance and toward alignment.

So this shoutout is to my tribe, my guides, and my God—for shaping the woman, the artist, and the visionary I continue to become.
