We had the good fortune of connecting with Gilbert Garcia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gilbert, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
So I decided to pursue the creative career when I realized it was the thing that helped me see the world in a new perspective. Being a photographer / videographer are skills I acquired that would help me explore that, to connect with people in a way that went beyond what they could see. So, I decided to dive into it and let my creativity lead the way.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
So as a kid I felt like I was always born to create. I was always coming up with ideas ,building things, or drawing . After highschool I wasn’t sure what I was planning to do . It’s not till I went to a college and took a film photography class when I discovered what I really wanted to do. I found a passion in photography where I was able to pursue the creative freedom. As a photographer & videographer there’s a lot of competition, I’d like to say what sets me apart from a lot of people is being able to use my surroundings, shoot in different angles and as well as use objects that I can shoot with and through so I could give the image a different perspective . Thats kind of the way I came up with my name Innovatedshotz for just being creative and implementing new ideas . Being posted on Lids (hat company) as well as shoe mgk ( shoe cleaning company) is what I’m most proud of at the moment, I’m very excited to see what the future holds for me . I’d like to say I got to where I am at the moment from just being social and networking as well as not being scared to ask questions or ask for help . One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is to just stay consistent “ obsession beats talent everytime “- Adam Sandler . Lastly something I’d want the world to know about me is to always stay humble, and I hope people know that I’m a constant learner, always trying to grow and challenge myself for the better.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
So if my best friend was visiting the area I’d take them to the Santa Monica pier where you can enjoy the rides as well as other activities there. For food we could go to one of my favorite places the grand central market . It’s one of my favorite places because of the diversity in food and desserts you could get there , they also have a downstairs where you could also buy some really good clothing and accessories. To finish the evening I’d take my friend to the Griffith observatory to get a great view of LA in the night .

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
So i would like to give a shoutout to a group of other talented photographers / videographers that I am apart of and we go by category 14 . Other shoutouts I would include would be Chris Henderson and Jesse Rodriguez for being good mentors / friends as well for Leo for referring me to this
