We had the good fortune of connecting with Maria Yecenia Larios and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maria Yecenia, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
For years, I worked hard in the industry and gained valuable experience, but deep down I always knew I wanted more freedom, creativity, and purpose in my work. I was tired of working under someone else’s rules and limitations—I wanted to create something of my own, something that reflected my values and vision. Starting my own business was about taking control of my future, building a legacy, and finally doing things the way I knew they could be done—putting clients first, providing high-quality services, and creating a space that truly makes people feel good inside and out

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Bellus Touch Med Spa is more than a business—it’s a dream I brought to life after years of hard work, personal growth, and a deep desire to create a space where people feel confident, cared for, and empowered. What sets us apart is our genuine passion for wellness and beauty, combined with over 20 years of experience in the medical field. We’re not just providing treatments—we’re creating personalized experiences that help our clients feel beautiful inside and out.

I’m most proud of the trust we’ve built with our clients and the team I’ve surrounded myself with. We treat everyone who walks through our doors like family. Getting here wasn’t easy—I went through a divorce, rebuilt my life from the ground up, and poured everything I had into this business. There were many challenges, from financing to learning the ins and outs of entrepreneurship, but I never gave up. I stayed focused, worked hard, and leaned on faith and determination.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that growth takes patience—and that nothing good comes without sacrifice. But if you stay committed to your vision and your values, the right people and opportunities will come.

I want the world to know that Bellus Touch is a place built with love, resilience, and a genuine desire to help others. Our story is still being written, and I’m excited for everything that’s ahead.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to visit for a week, I’d make sure they had the most unforgettable time—full of great food, relaxing moments, and a little glam of course! Here’s what our week might look like:

🧖‍♀️ Day 1: Self-Care + Chill
We’d start with a pampering day at Bellus Touch Med Spa (of course!)—body sculpting, a facial, and maybe a little laser glow-up to kick things off right. Afterward, we’d grab smoothies from Nature’s Juice and have a chill evening catching up over wine at Vino at Trios in Whittier.

🌇 Day 2: LA Vibes
We’d head into LA and brunch at Republique or Urth Caffé, then explore the Arts District and grab some rooftop drinks at Perch or EP & LP. If we’re feeling extra, we might catch a live show at The Hollywood Bowl.

🌴 Day 3: Beach Day
Nothing beats a day in Malibu or Manhattan Beach—beach walk, lunch at Malibu Farm, and sunset views. We’d end the day with tacos and margaritas at Gracias Madre in West Hollywood.

🌆 Day 4: Culture + Local Gems
We’d explore The Broad or LACMA, then head back to the SGV for dinner at Bistro Na’s or something fun and lively in Downtown Pasadena. Maybe a little dancing at La Cita Bar if we’re feeling nostalgic!

🛍️ Day 5: Shopping + Spa Night
We’d do some retail therapy at The Americana or South Coast Plaza, then wind down with an at-home spa night—candles, masks, and good music.

🌄 Day 6: Nature + Reflection
Hike up Runyon Canyon or Eaton Canyon, then brunch at The Raymond in Pasadena. This would be our deeper talk day—reflecting on life, growth, and all the good things.

🎉 Day 7: Celebration
We’d end with a group dinner at Castaway Burbank or 71Above, soaking in the views and celebrating friendship, dreams, and everything we’ve built. Maybe even stop by a fun speakeasy like Lock & Key or The Varnish.

There’s so much beauty and energy in this area—from luxury to laid-back vibes, from healing to celebration. I think that balance of experiences is what makes it so special—and I’d love to share that with someone I love.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely—I truly believe that no success story is ever a solo effort, and I’m incredibly grateful for the people who’ve poured into my journey.

First and foremost, I want to dedicate my shoutout to my family, especially my mom and children. Their love, support, patience, and motivation have kept me going through every challenge. They’ve been my “why” from the very beginning, and watching them see me grow has been the most rewarding part of it all.

I also want to recognize my mentors and close friends who believed in me even when I doubted myself. Their words of encouragement, honest advice, and support helped me make bold moves—like launching my own business.

And finally, I have to give credit to every client who trusted me from the start, especially when I was just getting Bellus Touch Medspa off the ground. Their loyalty and referrals helped me grow more than any marketing campaign could.

To all of them—thank you. I wouldn’t be where I am without you.
