Meet Troy Cooper | Videographer, editor, photographer, & euntrapanur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Troy Cooper and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Troy, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting my own business is hard haha, its a lot of thinking you’re the best and then also having the most self doubt.
It’s a lovely head game you play with yourself.
Gotta love the process aha.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have filmed BMX (mostly) for the last 10 years or so. Professionally idk maybe in the last 5 or 4 years I have gotten paid and been filming pro riders. It’s been such a passion of mine for so long. I have always loved filming though, I remember picking up my Grandma’s old Kodak camera pulling the trigger, and hearing it click.
I started riding BMX when I was going into 8th grade so idk 12?!
That has been a huge part of my life and idk where I would be without it It helped show me all the things I’m into.
It introduced me to music, film, editing, photos, art, fashion, all of it.
I love filming and shooting photos, so I wouldn’t be anything really if it wasn’t for BMX, I have no idea where I would be if it wasn’t for BMX and all the friends I’ve made around the world because of it.
Some things that I had to overcome were not getting in my head and just realizing that I needed to make stuff for myself. Not because you care about if other people are going to like it and if its going to get views?!!
We live in the meta world where everything is about those things, but I think it’s about remembering that views and likes don’t define if you’re a good artist, or whatever you do. Also just doing it, I spent a while just being like I’ll get to it and never doing it. Just doing the thing that I want to and not procrastinating it.
Thank you and love you all <3

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well for coffee and breakfast, I would say let go to Alder and Sage in Long Beach or Rose Park Coffee Roasters or Coffee Cup Cafe or Jerry’s Place.
For lunch probably hit Jounetsu Ramen, Wa Wa Restaurants, Lola’s Mexican Grill or LIttle Coyote or MVP’s they have nice outside seating and its always nice to sit outside and people watch.
Dinner and some drinks for the nightlife, Probably Joe Jost’s or The Vine on 4th Street.
Vine is my favorite place not only cuz it’s across from my house but they also have live music and a nice little outside patio to sit out back and socialize at.
Would say we can go to Black, Baby Gee, Alex’s Bar, and O’connell’s for some pool.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Well, I would like to first Shout out to my loved ones, especially my mom.
I grew up in a single-parent household and I didn’t have the best relationship with my dad growing up, so my mom was always there for me. Supporting me the best that she could, a single mom with 5 siblings all together. She is a beast and I still look up to her and strive to be that strong. Wouldn’t be the man I am if it wasn’t for my mom!!
She is a G and has always helped the best she could and has supported me from the beginning.
Love you mom!!
Second my girlfriend Sarah for being so supportive and pushing me to follow my dreams and being just also so supportive and believing in me at times when I don’t even believe in myself.
Stephan August, that’s my brother from another family altogether! Definitely couldn’t do this without him also being the best dude helping me when I’m down and feeling out and also helping me with just filming and stuff I appreciate it. He is just a dope creative person, so blessed to call him a friend and appreciate all he has done for me! Love you my G <3
Also all the people that have followed me and supported me and the stuff I do thank you all for being amazing, and thinking that I do cool stuff that you wanna support haha.
Couldn’t do it without them, and anyone else I’ve forgotten I’m sorry haha!
