We had the good fortune of connecting with Olivia Bright and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Olivia, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Hi everyone! I’m so excited to be here with Shoutout LA. I’m an event producer, and almost a year ago, a couple of my clients asked for big shiny mirror balls for their disco-themed birthday celebrations. That first time, the request came too close to the event date, and I couldn’t get them delivered in time from the popular website and Amazon. For the second event, I managed to get a set from local party planner—but unfortunately, balls were scratched and weren’t the quality I had hoped for.

That experience sparked an idea. I found a reliable manufacturer and started creating my own high-quality mirror balls. I take excellent care of my equipment—I store everything in a cool, dry space, and I make sure each ball is thoroughly cleaned and polished before and after every use. I truly love these big mirror balls, and I’m proud to bring them to events where they can shine—literally and figuratively!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business started with a simple challenge—finding high-quality, eye-catching mirror balls for an event I was producing. What I thought would be an easy rental turned into a series of frustrations: tight timelines, poor quality products, and unreliable vendors. That’s when I realized there was a gap in the market for premium, beautifully maintained, and stylish party decor that really wows people. So, I decided to create it myself.

Today, I offer rental and sales of oversized, inflatable mirror balls in various sizes—perfect for events, brand activations, photoshoots, pop-ups, and celebrations of all kinds. What sets my business apart is the level of care and detail I put into every piece. I don’t treat them like basic party props—I treat them like art. Every ball is cleaned and polished before and after use, stored properly, and handled with love. I want them to show up at events looking flawless and fabulous. Beyond mirror balls, I also create custom inflatable designs—sport balls, flowers, lounge seating—you name it. If it can be inflated, I can make it bold, beautiful, and unforgettable.

As a founder, I wear all the hats—logistics, marketing, customer service, and quality control. For me, word of mouth has been incredibly powerful, and I’m so grateful for every client recommendation. I also do outreach and send cold messages, which sometimes feels like shouting into the void—but I do it anyway! A lot of people reply with “We LOVE your balls and can’t wait to work with you!” and then… nothing happens for months. That’s the nature of the game.

It definitely hasn’t been easy. I’ve had to figure out manufacturing, shipping logistics, pricing, and customer education all at once. I had to learn by doing—mistakes included. But each challenge taught me something, whether it was how to communicate better with overseas manufacturers or how to streamline my rental process so clients feel confident and taken care of.

What I’m most proud of is seeing the joy and surprise on people’s faces when they see the mirror balls at an event. They instantly elevate the atmosphere. They’re playful, elegant, and unexpected. That’s the energy I want to bring to everything I do—surprising people in the best way.

What I want the world to know is that this business was built with love, creativity, and a desire to make moments more magical. Whether it’s one mirror ball or a full set, I’m here to help create unforgettable experiences—and have a little fun along the way.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
That’s my favorite question! I absolutely love Los Angeles for its incredible mix of nature and city energy. There’s nothing like a long hike in Malibu with ocean views or a morning walk through gorgeous Runyon Canyon, right in the heart of the city.

When it comes to my favorite spots, I’m all about good food and great vibes. For breakfast, I love Great White—both Melrose and Venice locations are amazing. If I need a quick but delicious lunch, Erewhon’s hot food bar is always a go-to. For coffee, you’ll find me at Maru or Stereoscope if I’m in Echo Park or WeHo. And if I’m by the beach, it’s Menotti’s in Venice—no question.

For a sexy girls’ night or a date, Chateau Marmont is my pick for strong cocktails and an iconic vibe. Horses has an incredible atmosphere and the food never disappoints. Sulga House is my cozy hidden gem for cold beet soup or comforting bone broth with hot green tea. And if I’m craving pasta, nothing beats the charming vibe and authentic flavors at Pace in Laurel Canyon.

My perfect LA evening? Catching a Malibu sunset followed by a hot lobster roll from Broad Street Oyster—and yes, I’ll take it with a non-alcoholic beer.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
