Meet Veronika Kluse | Multidisciplinary Creative

We had the good fortune of connecting with Veronika Kluse and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Veronika, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I’m originally from Riga, Latvia. Growing up, my parents raised me to be brave, independent, and unafraid to dream big. My mother often told me, “If you truly wish for something with all your heart, the universe will conspire to help you achieve it.” That mindset shaped the way I approached life from an early age.
At 18, I was accepted into my dream university — Royal Holloway, University of London, which was a life-changing experience and a validation of that belief. I never stopped dreaming after that. Eventually, I moved to sunny California and earned my Master of Public Administration degree from CSULB. Each chapter of my journey has been inspired by the values my upbringing gave me: courage, ambition, and the power of belief.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a creative strategist with a unique blend of experience in politics, public administration, and visual storytelling. What sets me apart is my ability to move seamlessly between structure and creativity, translating complex systems into engaging, visual experiences that resonate with people.
My journey started with a strong academic foundation in international relations and public administration, which taught me how to think critically, work across cultures, and navigate complex institutional structures. After moving to the U.S., I worked in HR for the City of Long Beach, where I found my niche in simplifying complicated policies and turning them into clear, accessible, and visually appealing resources for employees. That’s where I discovered how much power visuals hold in enhancing communication and understanding.
At the same time, I was exploring a creative path outside of work, volunteering as a production designer and building a parallel career in presentation design. Whether it was a set for a project or a high-stakes PowerPoint for a brand, I approached each challenge with precision, organisation, and a passion for storytelling.
The road hasn’t always been easy. Shifting from a traditional public sector role into more creative spaces meant stepping outside of my comfort zone and pushing against the idea that you have to fit into just one box. But I’ve learned that your background doesn’t limit you, it can actually be your biggest asset. My ability to think strategically and communicate visually is exactly what makes me valuable across industries.
What I want the world to know about me is that I’m committed to bringing ideas to life in immersive, intentional ways whether in a meeting room or on a production set. My long-term goal is to focus on production design full-time, combining my analytical background with my love for design to create meaningful, impactful visual experiences. My story is proof that creativity and strategy don’t just coexist, they thrive together.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting LA for a week, I’d plan a mix of creativity, great food, and iconic sights. We’d start with coffee at Pantry on Melrose and breakfast at The Butcher’s Daughter, then head to the Getty Villa for art and ocean views. We’d stroll down Rodeo Drive and then grab fresh hand rolls at KazuNori, which are simple, perfect, and very LA.
One day would be all about Malibu, starting with shopping at Kith, trying their ice cream, and ending with a beautiful sunset by the beach. We’d explore the creative energy of downtown by visiting The Broad, then enjoy rooftop drinks at Perch to take in the city skyline.
On the final day, we’d spend time by the water in Marina del Rey, soaking in the calm and grabbing a bite by the marina. Then we’d drive to Rancho Palos Verdes for stunning coastal views and one last peaceful moment before wrapping up the trip. I’d want them to leave feeling inspired and recharged, just like LA always makes me feel.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely, there are a few people who’ve played an essential role in my journey, and I’m so grateful for their presence in my life.
First, I’d like to give a huge shoutout to my husband, Moris Zingman. He’s not only a creative and a producer, but also the person who opened my eyes to the world of production design. Moris helped me see that creativity isn’t limited by your degree or background. Even though I studied political science, he showed me that I could bring a creative lens to everything I do and that belief in my potential changed everything.
I also want to recognise Kara Musick, my former supervisor and mentor at the City of Long Beach. Kara was a constant source of encouragement, always reminding me that the sky is not the limit—it’s just the beginning. She believed in me, empowered me to take on big challenges, and supported my rapid growth during my time there. Her leadership and mentorship truly helped shape the professional I am today.
