We had the good fortune of connecting with Aviv Keren and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aviv, what inspires you?
When I’m asked what inspires me, the answer is simple: everything. Music, nature, long walks, deep conversations with friends or colleagues — inspiration is everywhere. But for me, nothing compares to raw emotion. Real-life experiences, both joyful and painful, move me in a way that compels expression. Dance allows me to take those moments and translate them into movement, into something beautiful and honest.
I’ve always been a deeply emotional person — I used to feel everything at a hundred percent, all the time. When dance found me again at age 13, it was nothing short of life-changing. It gave me a way to clear my mind, quiet the noise, and channel my feelings into something creative and grounding. Over time, dance became more than expression; it became a form of emotional regulation — a way to find clarity, or at least some relief.
Teaching came into my life at age 16, and I never imagined it would become my greatest source of inspiration. Watching my students fall in love with dance, grow in confidence, and evolve through movement — that’s everything I could’ve ever asked for. Their journey fuels mine, and their growth challenges me to keep pushing boundaries — both for them and for myself.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a dancer, dance teacher, and choreographer based in Israel. I grew up in a small northern city called Karmiel, and after graduating high school, I moved to Tel Aviv on my own to pursue a career in dance. It wasn’t easy — I trained for hours every day and worked hard to make a name for myself. About eight months after moving, I landed my first professional job, and from that moment on, I’ve been working non-stop.
Over the years, I’ve built a diverse and fulfilling career. I’ve performed live with some of Israel’s biggest artists, including Omer Adam, Noa Kirel, and Eden Ben Zaken. I’ve danced in major television productions like The Masked Singer Israel and The Next Star for Eurovision, and worked on commercial campaigns for top companies such as Israel Light Rail, Strauss, and Yochananof.
As a teacher and choreographer, I’ve worked in studios all across the country — teaching classes, creating routines, and preparing students for competitions. I’ve had the privilege of watching my students grow from young beginners into strong, passionate dancers. I also teach regularly at Bestreet Dance Studios, the largest and most successful studio in Israel, where my classes are consistently full, often with over 40 dancers in attendance.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, i would have to start with breakfast at Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles, coffee stop at Saint caffe, an early dinner at Pink pepper in weho. clubbing in weho for sure, just bar hopping and the next day Malibu all the way.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to give a shoutout to Sonia Vodovozov — my studio manager, my first boss, and the first person who truly believed in my talent and potential. I met Sonia when I was 13, the day I joined her dance studio, Studio Vspot, and from the beginning, she knew exactly how to reach me.
She offered more than just training — she gave me a safe space. A place to cry, to laugh, to grow, to be fully myself and live in my truth.
Sonia was never afraid to be brutally honest or direct, and she consistently pushed me to rise to my full potential.
She taught me what discipline really means, how to chase my dreams with focus and intention, how to set goals and achieve them — and to never settle for anything less than greatness. But above all, the most important thing Sonia taught me was to enjoy the process — to have fun, and hold on to the joy that dance brings.

I’m deeply grateful for her love, patience, and guidance. I wouldn’t be where I am today without her.
and Im still inspired by her everyday.
