Meet Justin Drury

We had the good fortune of connecting with Justin Drury and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Justin, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
For most of my early adult life, I was fully immersed in the world of music. As a DJ, music producer and signed music artist, I had the incredible fortune of touring globally and experiencing life through a lens few get to see. From packed nightclubs in Europe, Asia, and South America to festivals/clubs across the U.S., it was a dream realized. I got to live passionately, creatively, and on my own terms. But as thrilling and fulfilling as that chapter was, I came to a point where I realized that the lifestyle was not sustainable long term. Constant travel, late nights, and the grind of being on the road began to clash with a deeper desire I felt growing within me, the desire to build a more grounded, future oriented life. I wanted a family one day, and with no traditional work experience outside of music, I understood that the next evolution in my journey needed to be driven by me.
That realization became the spark that lit my entrepreneurial fire. I knew if I wanted real freedom and long term security, I would have to create it myself. That led me to launch Spicy Mo’s, a CPG food brand inspired by bold flavors and built from the ground up for Whole Foods Markets throughout the Southern Pacific Region. Starting that business was one of the biggest leaps I had ever taken, but it laid the foundation for what came next.
Today, I am not only still running Spicy Mo’s, but I have also embraced a new chapter as a real estate agent in the South Bay of Southern California. The skills I honed in music… creativity, hustle, and adaptability, have seamlessly translated into entrepreneurship and real estate, allowing me to grow, serve others, and build a future that aligns with my personal values and long term vision

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My journey in business has been anything but conventional, and that’s a big part of what sets me apart. I come from a background as a touring DJ and music producer, which taught me early on how to hustle, stay creative under pressure, and adapt quickly. Those qualities have carried over into both of my current ventures.
With Spicy Mo’s, I saw an exciting challenge. I helped build the brand from the ground up with a deep focus on product quality. Getting our products on the shelves at Whole Foods Markets throughout the Southern Pacific Region was a huge milestone and something I’m really proud of. It wasn’t easy. There were many setbacks and many walls to climb, but persistence, strong partnerships, and a clear vision helped us push through.
In real estate, I take a similar approach: people first, always. I pride myself on being honest, resourceful, and fully invested in helping my clients find success in one of the most important decisions of their lives. What I want people to know about me is that I show up with passion and integrity in everything I do. Whether it’s launching a product line or negotiating a home sale, I treat every project and relationship with care, commitment, and a long-term mindset. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that your story doesn’t have to follow a straight path…. what matters most is showing up with heart and doing the work.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting for a week, I’d make sure they got the full Southern California South Bay experience, starting right in the heart of Manhattan Beach. We would kick things off with a walk along The Strand and stop for a memorable dinner at one of my favorite spots, Arthur J Steakhouse. It’s the perfect place to introduce them to the vibe down here, great food, a welcoming community, and that laid back beach lifestyle that makes Manhattan Beach so special.
The next day, we would rent bikes and cruise along the coastline, making our way south through Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach. We would hit all the best local hangouts, explore both piers, and spend some time in Riviera Village, which has some of the best coffee shops, boutiques, and relaxed patio dining in the area.
Later in the trip, we would hop in the car and take one of my favorite drives up the Palos Verdes Peninsula, where I grew up. The views along that route are nothing short of breathtaking, with cliffs, rolling hills, and the Pacific stretching out in every direction. It’s a must see for anyone who wants to experience the true beauty of Southern California. We would wrap up the trip with a relaxing staycation at Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, where we could unwind with oceanfront dining, pool time, and a coastal hike or two. To me, that’s the ultimate way to experience the best of the South Bay, great food, stunning nature, and an authentic taste of the local lifestyle.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There have been so many people throughout my life and career who have inspired, guided, and supported me in meaningful ways. I’d like to dedicate this shoutout to a few key groups who have truly made an impact. First, to my business partners at Spicy Mo’s, Thank you for believing in the vision and building alongside me. To my mentors and colleagues at Strand Hill Properties in Manhattan Beach, I’m incredibly grateful for your guidance, professionalism, and encouragement as I continue to grow in real estate. To my close friends, your support and uplifting words have meant more than you know. And most importantly, to my family…. your love and belief in me since day one has been the foundation of everything. I love you all.
