We had the good fortune of connecting with Kelly Cloud and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kelly, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
Habits that have helped are definitely professionalism, constancy, and good customer service. Making your clients feel good, appreciated, heard and valued goes a long way. I have clients that I’ve had now for 11 years. This is proof!!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My background is in fine art and fashion. I studied fine art from a young age then into fashion design for college. But ended up in the beauty world! I am most known for my nail art. I came into this realm in 2012. I a super proud for the huge impact I’ve have made on this industry and had huge hand in the nail art world you now know to day. Bringing “inspiration” whether be fine art, fashion, a picture you took of a piece of fruit or something you found online into or nail appointment. This was me. The wet sculptural water droplet look, the elevated idea of what nail art could be. These are my biggest accomplishments in which I am super proud of. I am where I am today because of a great support system, dedication and consistency! Nothing good comes easy. But the key is to enjoy it. It shows in your work. I think the most important thing I would want the world to know about my brand is that it’s not it’s so much more than nail art. It’s art!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh well my girlfriend comes to visit all the time from Berlin and these are all the spots we love…

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Oh wow, well I definitely need to thank my parents and partner for supporting me always. I owe a huge thanks to Emily Weiss, founder of Glossier and into the gloss. She saw the gold in what was I was doing and featured me on her platform. This definitely helped jump-start my introduction to a wider audience and helped me get where I am today. Also must really just thank my clients who have been so supportive throughout the years and some who have become dear friends.
