We had the good fortune of connecting with Xandrea Garay and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Xandrea, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Becoming my own boss wasn’t just about entrepreneurship—it was about creating a life that worked for my family.
I wanted flexible hours so I could be present for my kids, the freedom to choose who I work with, and the ability to build something meaningful on my own terms.
Real estate gave me the chance to do all of that—and more.

What should our readers know about your business?
Starting my business as a Realtor wasn’t just a career move—it was a deeply personal decision rooted in my desire for freedom, family, and purpose. I wanted flexible hours so I could be present for my kids, the ability to choose who I worked with, and the opportunity to build something of my own. Becoming my own boss meant I could serve people the way I knew they deserved to be treated—especially families trying to create generational wealth through real estate.

What sets me apart is my heart for people. I don’t see real estate as just buying and selling houses—I see it as helping clients step into new chapters of their lives. Whether it’s a first-time buyer, a family relocating, or a homeowner ready to move on, I approach each transaction with care, strategy, and genuine partnership. My clients know I’m in their corner 100%.

It definitely wasn’t always easy. Building a business from the ground up meant late nights, self-doubt, and learning how to market myself while still being present for my family. But I kept going, fueled by my “why” and supported by an incredible team and mentors who believed in me even when I didn’t.

Some of the biggest lessons I’ve learned? To stay consistent even when results don’t come right away, to lead with authenticity, and to never underestimate the power of community. Relationships are everything in this business, and treating people like family has opened more doors than any marketing campaign ever could.

What I want the world to know is this: I’m here to make real estate feel human again. I’m proud of how far I’ve come, and even more excited about where I’m going. My story is still being written—and I’m honored every time someone chooses me to be a part of theirs.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting for a week, I’d be SO excited to show them the magic of Southern California—especially the blend of chill vibes, culture, and hidden gems that make this area so special. Here’s how I’d plan the ultimate week:

Day 1 – Arrival + Welcome
We’d kick things off with a rooftop brunch at Perch LA—mimosas, city views, and live music set the perfect tone. Afterward, we’d stroll through The Broad Museum or check out Art District murals for a little LA flavor.

Day 2 – Beach Day
A full beach day is a must—Malibu or Laguna Beach depending on the vibe. Pack snacks, music, and good energy. For sunset, we’d grab tacos at Carmelita’s and toast to the ocean air.

Day 3 – Explore the Coast
Road trip down the coast! Brunch in Long Beach Georgia’s, then cruise through the Belmont Shore, stop at Venice Canals, and hit up Abbot Kinney Blvd for unique shopping.

Day 4 – Culture & Creativity
We’d catch a play at the Hollywood Pantages or a concert at the Hollywood Bowl —there’s always something happening! Before the show, dinner at Linden for an upscale vibe.

Day 5 – Local Chill + Hidden Gems
I’d take them through my favorite local gems—Old Pasadena or a chill spa day. Dinner at Mi Pace.

Day 6 – Foodie Fun
A food crawl kind of day: breakfast and coffee at Hilltop, lunch at Fixins, and dinner at Status Hollywood. Nightcap at EP & LP rooftop bar for a glam finish.

Day 7 – Sunday Reset
We’d close the trip with a soulful Sunday— hike to the Hollywood sign or Zumba class, brunch at Serving Spoon , and one last beach sunset at Santa Monica before they head home.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I just want to take a moment to thank my family and friends who have always supported me—through every late night, big decision, and leap of faith.
To my incredible team who always has my back—thank you for showing up, pushing through, and believing in the vision.
And to my mentors—I wouldn’t be where I am without your guidance, wisdom, and encouragement.
This journey is far from over, but I’m beyond grateful for the people walking it with me.
