Meet Jennifer (Jinnsi) Hoang | Food & Lifestyle Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer (Jinnsi) Hoang and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jennifer (Jinnsi), do you disagree with some advice that is more or less universally accepted?
“Good things come to those who wait.”
I agree… to an extent. Patience can lead to thoughtful decisions and meaningful outcomes—but most things in life won’t just fall into your lap. You have to be proactive.
In my experience, good things come to those who start—even when it’s messy, uncertain, or imperfect.
Opportunities don’t always show up—you often have to create them. I’ve learned that taking small steps, staying consistent, and showing up for yourself (even when no one’s watching) is what leads to real growth.
You can’t wait for the “right” moment or someone else’s permission. You have to start anyway.
Some of the best things I’ve experienced happened because I put myself out there. I posted the videos, reached out, and showed up, even when I didn’t feel ready. That’s what moved things forward—not waiting, but doing.
So yes, patience has its place. But progress? That belongs to the ones who take the first step.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My work mainly highlights restaurants and cafés serving high-quality food and drinks, curated as a guide for locals and travelers. As a passionate foodie and caffeine connoisseur, I love creating aesthetically pleasing videos for all the indecisive folks who never know what to eat or where to go next.
I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunities I’ve had so far—and honestly, sometimes I’m still in disbelief about how far I’ve come, especially since I tend to be my own harshest critic. It’s easy to spiral into thoughts like “I should’ve done this better,” or “Am I even good at this?” But I’ve learned that those moments of doubt are part of the process.
When you put yourself out there in a sea of loud voices, it’s easy to feel drowned out.
Building a brand takes time, patience, and a deep commitment to your craft—and what sets me apart is persistence. That drive to keep learning, growing, and improving is what differentiates me from others who once had similar aspirations.
I’ve also learned that achieving your goals often means working with what you have and embracing discomfort. It’s not always easy to be the person taking flash photos in a crowded restaurant or pulling out a light in public—but over time, I’ve grown more comfortable owning those moments. Getting out of your comfort zone takes courage, and I’ve had to teach myself that it’s okay to stand out—and even be a little awkward—if it means showing up fully for what I love.
If there’s one thing I want the world to know about me and my brand, it’s this: I started with curiosity and a camera, but what’s kept me going is heart. Behind every post is a person who simply wants to help others discover joy in good food and good company—and to prove that with passion, patience, and persistence, you can carve your own lane in any space.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m the type of person who has a list for everything—where to hang out, what to eat depending on the mood or cuisine, which places have free vs. paid parking—you name it!
Los Angeles:
To kick off the day right, I’d recommend going to Uncle Stevey’s in El Segundo. They serve incredible East Coast-style bagels and sandwiches—perfectly seasoned, flavorful, and a total standout.
For coffee breaks (or work sessions), I love Series A, About Time, and Tierra Mia. Each spot has its own vibe, amazing drinks, and quick bites that hit the spot.
A must-visit stop is The Last Bookstore in Downtown L.A.—it’s an absolute dream for book lovers, filled with charm, fun decor, and cozy nooks to explore for hours.
Orange County:
When the craving for Japanese food hits, Sapporo Sushi and Takumi Sushi are my go-tos—great ambiance, fresh flavors, and perfect whether you’re with friends, a date, or flying solo.
For a more low-key, cozy vibe, The Classic Café is a hidden gem with the sweetest staff and a peaceful atmosphere—ideal for catching up or getting work done.
And for my fellow matcha lovers, you have to check out Coffee &, Kei Coffee House, and Airoma Café. Each one has its own unique twist on matcha drinks, and they never disappoint.
Whether you’re visiting for a few days or a week, I’d tailor the trip to combine good food, unique spots, and a little downtime to truly enjoy what L.A. and OC have to offer.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Sending love and gratitude to the people who’ve had the unfortunate pleasure of politely waiting while their food got cold as I snapped endless photos and videos—your patience has never gone unnoticed. I also want to recognize those who inspired me from the beginning: the friends who always knew the best places to eat and hang out—this one’s for you. I truly learned from the best. Most importantly, thank you to everyone who encouraged me to keep going when this was just a fun little hobby and who stuck by me through both the highs and the lows. Your support means everything.
