We had the good fortune of connecting with Ana Estela Lloyd and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ana Estela, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
This is my exact thought process when I think of the word balance: In Spanish it’s pronounced Libra it means pounds. Pounds make me think of weight, scale. Weight + scale = the weight and scale of things. Libra is ruled by Venus. Venus, birth of Venus, think luxury, erotic, indulgent, jovial, alive! Then I begin to think of all the decisions I’ve made. Of the way my life has been up to now. What does my life lack? Where and how have I been indulgent? Where have my decisions lacked passion? Where have I wallowed in the weight of a decision I made? Why was it there? When did it start? In these questions I discovered my life lacked balance. My marriage, the way I mothered, the way I worked with clients, all heavily out of balance. I have sooo much FOMO, fear of missing out, and because of it I realize I never planned my days. My DM’s were open for appointments at all hours, I had no boundaries at all. And then as I began to look at my teenage years, my early 20’s I realized my biggest struggle was balance. I realize it still is. So I start my days a lot differently now. With more magick, more intent. Here’s my morning ritual: As soon as I open my eyes I give thanks for being allowed to see another day. I give myself a big hug. I say “I forgive you for yesterday. Today I will love and protect you.” I get up and make coffee. I put on my headphones play some meditation music and write out my day’s intention

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am an Akashic Records/ Aka Dua Healer and certified Life Coach. The Akashic Records are a dimension of consciousness that contains a vibrational record of every soul and its journey. This vibrational body of consciousness exists everywhere in its entirety and is completely available at all times and in all places. As such, the Records are an experiential body of knowledge that contains everything that every soul has ever thought, said, and done over the course of its existence, as well as all its future possibilities. Aka Dua is an energy healing modality. Traditionally used to heal, it can also be used to help shift your emotions and consciousness to better align with your personal and spiritual growth. Through the seven distinct levels of energy, change is facilitated not only physically, but also mentally, spiritually and creatively. A phone or video session with me consists of a quick chat before the reading/healing. We open the 4 corners together to invite peace and clarity into the space. And when ready I guide us through a prayer and meditation and our session begins. I guess the thing I am most proud and excited about is my growth. I’m excited to see where my higher self is taking me. There isn’t a guidebook for the path of magick. There’s no one holding your hand, it’s just the universe kicking your ass until you finally accept your path. Listen, I am nowhere near to where I want to be professionally. I’m working out of a small leaky shed in my parent’s backyard. Okay, it’s the kid’s play house. I’m kidding. But I’m grateful. I’m overcoming challenges every day, learning what it’s like to run a business, and the important thing I’m learning is it’s okay to cry, punch the air, blow that snot bubble, but after you get it out of your system, get back up and be grateful. You learn a lot of lessons. Mostly where are your boundaries lacking, how are you abandoning yourself, what are your toxic patterns/traits and my personal favorite why do I attract this particular kind of person. The one thing the world should know about me, my work, my story, is that it’s all full of love. It’s full of passion, and laughter and color. I’m here to hold space for you, to help you ask all the hard questions I once asked myself. I’m the branch upon which you build your cocoon.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
So since the pandemic our outings have been limited, so if anyone was to visit this is what the week would look like.

Sunday: do a Costco run, grab a hot dog or pizza,
drive to Dockweiler, have an in car picnic.
Monday: grab some Starbucks for us and the dog and go to Clutter’s Park and watch the planes take off at LAX.
Tuesday: I heard about this nice dog beach in Huntington Beach, wanna come?
Wednesday: we’re heading down to the Palos Verdes Shoreline preserve for a nice little hike to the beach, but first we will stop at Busy Bee’s Sandwiches for some tasty fuel!
Thursday: we’re going to Downtown LA, to catch Pokémon!!
Friday: it’s Friday!!!! Day of Venus! Let’s celebrate the divine feminine energy within all of us with a little workout/releasing exercise at the beach?! So let’s go to Dockweiler tonight, I got edibles, notebooks, fire and a pen!
Saturday: we’re getting our nails done!! We’re heading over to Redondo Nails off the 110 South Redondo exit.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I feel like only two places deserve a shoutout from me and that’s Mostly Angels LA and The Philosophical Research Society
