We had the good fortune of connecting with DJ Bateeza and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DJ, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I chose to pursue a creative career due to my lifelong passion for music, which started in my childhood and led me to study music in college. This musical foundation naturally transitioned into my work as a DJ, where I could express my creativity. Embracing my artistic side, I developed a brand centered around the color pink, allowing me to engage in a variety of exciting and artistic events. This journey has truly turned into a dream job.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The key takeaway from my journey has been the importance of helping and uplifting others. Just as I have received support from DJs, I strive to extend that same kindness to those around me. Building meaningful friendships and fostering strong relationships with clients and venues is also crucial in this industry.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In California, the possibilities for fun are endless. A day at the beach is always a great way to unwind. I spend most of my time in Long Beach and Orange County, where Ballast Point Brewery in Long Beach is a perfect spot to grab drinks. If you’re in the mood to shop, Fashion Island in Newport offers a diverse range of stores for a nice shopping experience.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My fiancé, Joe, deserves significant recognition for his role in this journey. Recently, we embarked on a business venture together, driven by his creative vision and entrepreneurial spirit. We transformed our Cybertruck into a DJ booth, complete with speakers, a DJ setup, lighting, and interactive features. The truck proudly showcases my signature pink colors and displays my DJ name on its sides. Joe has always been my rock, and he continues to provide unwavering support as we grow our business.
I’ve been fortunate to have incredible mentors throughout my journey, including my dear friend DJ Lucky Lou. His guidance and support have been invaluable to me in navigating this industry, and I truly appreciate all the advice he has shared. Additionally, my great friend DJ Jon B has also played a significant role in my development.
