As a parent, I think the most important thing I’ve done is to never stop learning. Before starting my career as a financial advisor, I enrolled in courses at Harvard Extension School to deepen my understanding of American history and culture. As a single parent of two lovely daughters, running a business, meanwhile finishing up my bachelor’s degree, was definitely a heavy plate to hold. My girls turned 6 and 7 this year, they are both in magnet programs, both are very outspoken, and very creative with what they are passionate about. Christina Lois

The most important thing I’ve done for my child is given her a voice and the ability to explore freely. I had, and still have so much anxiety over if I am succeeding or falling behind, comparing myself, and hating my body. Breaking generational curses has proven to be tough, but I refuse to start my little with the challenges and mindsets that I had to overcome. I tell her that she is worthy, strong, beautiful, and a gift every single day. She will grow up feeling secure and loved.
