Meet Rubina Chadha | Mindfulness & Creativity Leader

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rubina Chadha and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rubina, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Inner Design was never built only as a business. It was created as a way to restore balance, presence, and creativity in people’s lives, knowing that when one person finds that alignment it naturally ripples out into their community. I have seen time and again that stress is not just personal, it is collective. When a leader is burnt out, the weight falls on their team. When a parent is overwhelmed, the family feels it. When a student is anxious, it shapes their learning environment. The opposite is also true. When one person is able to pause, breathe, and reconnect with their natural rhythm, everyone around them benefits.
Through my programs, workshops, and coaching, I bring people simple yet powerful tools for mindfulness and creative expression that they can carry into their work, homes, and communities. Whether it is a high school student learning how to regulate their stress before presenting their portfolio, or a creative professional finding a way to reset their energy so their team can thrive, the impact goes beyond the individual.
My background in both commercial fine arts and trauma-informed education has shaped this vision. I see creativity as a birthright, not a privilege, and mindfulness as a daily practice, not a passing trend. By weaving the two together, I help people not only heal themselves but also strengthen the environments they are part of.
The real social impact of Inner Design is in creating a culture where presence and creativity are accessible to everyone. Every time someone leaves a session or workshop with more clarity, calm, or inspiration, that energy does not stay with them alone. It travels outward, into their families, their classrooms, their companies, and their communities. That is what I am most proud of.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My career has always been guided by the understanding that creativity and presence are not separate paths, but deeply connected. What sets me apart is that I approach branding not as an outer exercise of logos and strategy, but as an inner discovery. To me, a brand is a living expression of who you are when your energy, voice, and values are aligned. I am most proud of the work I have created that helps people uncover that inner design and bring it forward in a way that feels both true and magnetic.
The journey here was not easy. There were seasons where I had to completely rebuild, both personally and professionally. Closing one business, starting over as a single parent, and redefining what success meant for me were not small challenges. Yet those moments became my teachers. I learned that resilience does not come from pushing harder, it comes from returning to your breath, resetting your nervous system, and creating from a place of clarity. Those lessons are now the foundation of how I guide others.
What I want the world to know about my story is that Inner Design was born out of lived experience. It is not theory, it is practice. My background in commercial fine arts, trauma-informed education, and mindfulness allowed me to weave together tools that serve both the creative process and the human spirit. The lesson I carry forward is that success is not measured only by what you produce, but by how authentically you can live and lead.
Inner Design is about reminding people that the truest version of their brand, their work, and their voice already lives within them. My role is simply to help them uncover it, breathe life into it, and trust it enough to share it with the world.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When a friend visits me in Los Angeles, I always like to give them a balance of creativity, culture, and moments of pause. A perfect day would begin in the Arts District in downtown, where we could wander through the street art and stop for coffee or a meal in one of the many small cafes that carry such a creative energy. The mix of food, design, and people in that area always sparks conversation.
Then we could head to the public library which is filled with more than history and resources, often it’s buzzing with art on display or even art activities. Just up the street from there we could walk through museums and music halls that were infamously designed by well renound architects and are again full of creative inspiration.
We could spend the next full day at the Huntington Library, Museum & Botanical Gardnes in San Marino, which is one of my favorite places where art and nature meet. The botanical gardens are expansive and restorative, and the museum collection always leaves me inspired. Walking through the Japanese or Chinese gardens and then stepping into a gallery feels like moving between worlds, and it is a reminder of how creativity thrives in many forms.
Another day, I would also like to spend time at the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena. It is a place where you can stand before ancient Southeast Asian art and feel the weight of history and wisdom in each piece. After walking through the galleries, I love sitting in the outdoor Zen garden. It offers a natural pause for reflection, almost like a meditation in the middle of the city.
While we are in that area, we could go up the hill to The ArtCenter College of Design, where I attended. It’s a place full of creative energy where not only walls are full of young student artists work on display, but the workshop areas are innovative and fully active with students developing high end projects.
In the evening, I would take them down the street to Old Towne Pasadena. It has such a welcoming energy with its mix of historic architecture, boutiques, and restaurants. We could stroll through the streets, stop for dinner, and end the day in conversation, enjoying the slower pace after a day of exploration.
And then, of course, I would bring them for a day to spend around my home neighborhood in Arcadia, where peacocks roam freely through the streets, adding their own kind of magic to the community. Sometimes there are evening events at the Santa Anita Race Track or the Los Angeles Arboretum, with live music and performances that create such a festive and local atmosphere. It’s a reminder that beauty and creativity are not only found in museums and cityscapes, but also right at home in the neighborhoods we live in.
That combination of art, food, culture, and mindful spaces is what I believe makes Los Angeles so special. It is not only about seeing the sights, but about experiencing the rhythm of the city in a way that is creative, nourishing, and memorable.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My deepest gratitude goes to the teachers and Gurus who have touched my life with their wisdom and presence. Growing up in a spiritual family, I was introduced early to practices of yoga, meditation, and mindfulness. Those teachings became the foundation that I have carried with me into every season of life. I have been fortunate to learn from teachers who not only shared knowledge but embodied what it meant to live with compassion, discipline, and awareness.
Their guidance has reminded me that true teaching is not about what is said, but about what is lived. The patience, encouragement, and example of my teachers shaped the way I now show up for others. The work I do through Inner Design is, in many ways, a continuation of the lessons they passed on to me. It is my way of honoring their influence and ensuring that their wisdom continues to reach more people.
So my shoutout goes to those teachers and Gurus, known and unknown, whose presence continues to light the way forward for me.
