We had the good fortune of connecting with Bubba Winkelspecht and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bubba, what inspires you?
I am inspired by the struggle. Pushing through every difficult task to continue driving forward, something all of the greats have gone through. It drives me forward and reminds me that, even though the path to success isn’t easy, it’s what makes it worth it.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is one of passion. I think what sets me apart from others is my genuine love for the art and craft of filmmaking. I try to only work with people who share that same passion, to create the best product together. Getting where I am professionally wasn’t easy. It’s consisted of countless sleepless nights, unpaid bills, and perseverance to remember why it’s all worth it. One big thing I learned throughout the whole process is the sacrifices you have to make to get to success.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a friend visiting, I would take him to a local theater, like the Texas Theatre in Oak Cliff. I would also take them around some of my favorite Dallas nightlife places, like Rodeo Cold, or Greenlight Social. Dallas is full of great places.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shoutout my production team Cinehaus; Brandon James, our Producer and Lead, and Logan Lewis, our Writer and Cinematographer. We push each other toward success and continue to focus on what we are passionate about, storytelling. We all graduated from the same film school, KD Conservatory, which gave us the training needed to fully pursue our careers within the filmmaking industry.
