We had the good fortune of connecting with Quanie and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Quanie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
For me, the core of everything I’m building comes down to intentionality. I’ve never been interested in moving fast just to look busy. I move with purpose, even if that means taking the long way. That approach has shaped my acting, my creative work, my music, and now—my wellness brand.

I started in entertainment young, and I learned early that talent opens the door, but discipline and alignment keep you in the room. Every project—whether it was working with Nike, being part of viral music videos, or releasing my first single—taught me how important it is to know who you are before you start building anything.

That foundation is what fuels QUANI Wellness and Girl Group Studios. I want everything I put into the world to feel grounded, thoughtful, and human. I don’t create from pressure; I create from clarity. I care about sustainability—not the trend, but the lifestyle. I care about slow growth that actually means something. I care about making things that help people feel more connected to themselves.

The most important factor behind my success—personally and creatively—has been moving with intention, trusting my pace, and choosing alignment over aesthetics. When you build from that place, the rest follows naturally.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started with indie projects and music visuals, working with directors like Lawrence Lamont, and later stepping into award-winning short films with Savanah Mears of Five Three Projects. Projects like the “LIGHT” video, my work in “Wayne’s Story,” my Nike campaign as Mars Blackmon, and my debut single “Piece” helped shape my voice and taught me what it means to show up with presence, discipline, and intention.

From there, my work began to expand — into music, wellness, and producing my own content through Girl Group Studios. I host Quanie: The Podcast every Monday and IN THE KITCHEN WITH Q every Tuesday, spaces where I can speak honestly, reflect, and create from a grounded place. Building those platforms helped me form a community long before any product or brand ever entered the picture.

The path wasn’t easy — a lot of it was quiet, self-funded, and rooted in patience. I had to learn to evolve on my own timeline and trust that my journey didn’t need to look like anyone else’s. That kind of growth takes courage, stillness, and a lot of faith.

What I’m most proud of is the clarity I’ve gained along the way. I know the world I’m building. QUANI Wellness is an extension of that — not just a brand, but a perspective. Something intentional, soft, grounded, and centered on becoming the most aligned version of yourself.

If there’s one thing I want people to know, it’s that none of this happened overnight. It’s been steady, disciplined, and intentional. And everything I’m creating now reflects that same energy — focused, purposeful, and true to who I am becoming.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Day 1 – Ease In (Larchmont / West Hollywood)
We’d start simple: a slow morning on Larchmont, coffee from Go Get Em Tiger, maybe a walk through the neighborhood. Nothing rushed. Just letting them settle into the light here.

Day 2 – Art & Stillness (Mid-City)
I’d take them to LACMA or The Broad — places where you can move slowly and have quiet moments between exhibits. Lunch at Republique or Met Her At A Bar, somewhere bright and easy.

Day 3 – Beach + Breath (Malibu)
A drive up to El Matador or Point Dume for the cliffs and quiet. Not a beach day — just a reset day. Maybe stop at Malibu Farm for something clean and fresh.

Day 4 – Creative LA (Arts District)
We’d spend time in the Arts District — Hauser & Wirth, a few small galleries, a walk through the neighborhood. Dinner at Bavel or Bestia, depending on how we’re feeling.

Day 5 – Everyday Rituals (Echo Park / Silver Lake)
A morning at Erewhon in Silver Lake — smoothies, bowls, small talk. Then a calm stroll around Echo Park Lake or vintage stops along Sunset Junction. L.A. mood without the performance.

Day 6 – Dinner Out (West Hollywood)
One nice dinner. Maybe Jon & Vinny’s, Issima, or Laurel Hardware — somewhere with good lighting and a relaxed vibe. Drinks after if the energy is right. If not, we go home.

Day 7 – Slow Sunday (Home + Views)
The last day would be soft: staying in, cooking, watching something nostalgic, maybe driving up to Mulholland for the view before the city lights come on. I like ending L.A. trips quietly — that’s when it all sinks in.

L.A. is best when you move through it slowly.
The city feels different that way — more human, more spacious, more yours.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’ve been lucky to have collaborators who shaped the way I see and create. Directors like Savanah Mears, Lawrence Lamont, and Stacy Wall helped refine my eye early on and taught me the value of intention in storytelling. Friends and creatives who worked with me on my first visuals were also a huge part of my foundation — we were all learning and building at the same time.

I’ve also had support from brands who felt aligned with my voice and where I’m headed. OUAI has been one of those steady relationships — thoughtful, genuine, and consistent. They’ve trusted my perspective and shown up in ways that feel collaborative and real, not transactional. That kind of energy matters when you’re growing something from a grounded place.

Along the way, I’ve also had guidance from mentors across the industry — from connections with Beggars Group to my agents at Almond Talent. Their insight and support helped me stay clear on my direction.

Nothing I’ve built has happened alone. The right people and the right energy showed up when I needed them, and I’m grateful for every aligned moment. I try to carry that same intention into everything I create moving forward.
