We had the good fortune of connecting with Carola Di Franco and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Carola, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I grew up immersed in the world of filmmaking, where movies weren’t just entertainment in my household—they were a shared language, a way of connecting and feeling together. Over time, I realized that in every career I dreamed of as a child, it wasn’t the job that excited me—it was the chance to transform and step into someone else’s shoes. I had seen people do that in movies, and I was drawn to the power of imagination and the act of becoming more than any specific career path.

What moves me most is the impact movies can have on people’s lives. Films inspire us. They can make someone feel seen in a way nothing else has. They can make you feel less alone on your worst day, or become the best part of someone’s day when everything else feels heavy. They offer escape, comfort, and sometimes even clarity. It helps shaping the way we see the world, expanding empathy, challenging assumptions, and ultimately reminding us of our shared humanity. So many people, when asked why they chose their career, point back to a movie that changed something in them. Stories have the power to shift perspectives and spark a desire for change. I think that’s extraordinary, and I’ve always wanted to be part of something that meaningful.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Acting is the place where I feel most alive creatively. What draws me to it is the intimacy, responsibility, and privilege of telling a human story with honesty. I’m most excited by roles that challenge perspective and expand empathy, because that’s what film has always done for me. If there’s something that sets me apart, I think it’s the depth of reverence I have for the craft. I see this work as a service to storytelling more than anything else. The awareness of how deeply powerful stories can be fuels how seriously and lovingly I approach the work.

Professionally, the road has not been easy, and still isn’t in many ways. This industry requires patience, resilience, and a tolerance for uncertainty. I spent eleven years in the U.S. on a student visa, unable to legally work, which created a constant tension between ambition and limitation. Having an accent further narrowed opportunities early on. There were many moments when it felt like I was ready, but circumstances weren’t aligned. What carries me through was a shift in perspective that happened a couple of years ago. I stopped obsessing over timelines and started focusing on growth—on becoming better, more present, more grounded. I learned that mindset is everything. This career will humble you, but it will also refine you if you let it.

What I want the world to know about me is that I truly care. I care about people, about emotional truth, about stories that matter. My “brand,” if I had to define it, is presence, empathy, and transformation. I want to create work that makes someone feel less alone, more understood, or newly inspired—because that’s what film has done for me my entire life.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family is the heart of my story. They created a home where art mattered, and where imagination was encouraged. Their constant love has been the foundation I stand on. Knowing I’m supported unconditionally has given me the courage to keep choosing this path.

I also want to acknowledge the books that shifted my mindset during a pivotal period in my life—Letting Go by David R. Hawkins, The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle, and The Untethered Soul by Michael A. Singer. They helped me move from anxiety about the future into a deeper presence and trust in the process. I also began practicing Transcendental Meditation, and it has become an anchor for me. It keeps me grounded, clear-minded, and able to approach the challenges of this industry—and of everyday life—with more excitement than fear.

I truly believe none of us move forward alone. Success is rarely just personal effort. It’s shaped by the love, wisdom, and guidance we absorb along the way, and I’m deeply grateful for the people and practices that have helped me grow not just as an artist, but as a person.
