We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel Vick and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rachel, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
My biggest impact on my community is around creating connection and encouragement for women, not just selling clothes.

I consistently focus on making women feel included and confident through my VIP group, live sales, app lives, giveaways, and personal interaction.

I’m building a local presence in a very personal way by passing out flyers in my neighborhood, creating events, doing lives, and celebrating milestones as a business! That creates loyalty because people feel like they actually know me.

I try to model initiative and entrepreneurship in a relatable way. I’m building something visibly from the ground up, and the women around me likely see that consistency and feel apart of the growth of the boutique.

I’d honestly describe my impact as:
“Helping women feel seen, connected, and confident while creating a real sense of community around shopping small.”

A lot of boutiques sell clothes. Fewer create belonging. That’s where Three Strands Boutique is set apart.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Three Strands Boutique was built from a passion for helping women feel confident, connected, and beautiful in everyday life. What sets us apart is that we are so much more than just a boutique. We’ve created a true community where women can shop, connect, laugh together during live sales, and feel encouraged and included. From our VIP group and app to local events and personal customer relationships, we focus on making every customer feel seen and valued.

What I’m most proud of is the community that has formed around this business. Watching customers turn into loyal supporters and friends has been the most rewarding part of this journey. Reaching milestones like surpassing 1,000 orders reminded me that this business is making a real impact, not just online but in people’s everyday lives.

Getting to where we are today definitely was not easy. Like many small business owners, there were moments of doubt, financial pressure, long nights, and learning everything through trial and error. Building a boutique from the ground up required consistency, faith, creativity, and the willingness to keep showing up even when growth felt slow. Social media changes, balancing family life, inventory decisions, and learning marketing strategies were all challenges along the way.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that authenticity matters more than perfection. People connect with real stories, real passion, and genuine relationships. I’ve also learned that community is everything. Customers want more than products — they want connection, trust, and a brand they can relate to.

Three Strands Boutique was inspired by Ecclesiastes 4:12 — “…a cord of three strands is not easily broken.” To me, that verse represents strength through unity, faith in God, and the beauty of doing life together instead of alone.

The name became even more meaningful because I’m a mother to three daughters. They are my three strands — each uniquely different, yet together creating something strong, beautiful, and deeply connected.

I carry the heart of that verse into this boutique by building more than just a place to shop. I want Three Strands Boutique to feel like community, encouragement, and connection — a reminder that women are stronger when we support one another, uplift one another, and stand together through every season of life. 🤍

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’ve lived in Camarillo, CA for a little over 5 years now and you’d be shocked at how much of a homebody I am!

I wish I was more familiar with what my area has to offer. But I gotta say my ideal week with a friend would be brunch every morning at a new spot each day. I would love to hang by my pool and have a bit of a staycation during the day and then get all dolled up for dinner and karaoke each night! I am a HUGE fan of karaoke and live music of any kind. Live music and a drink in my hand is a good night!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout for sure goes to my husband. When I took on the endeavor of opening up my own online boutique he was all in making sure I had bins and shelving for the warehouse and jumped in anywhere he could. He dealt patiently with my sleepless nights building my website and basically losing his wife for a while while I got everything up and going. Love you Josh!

And to my ‘Three Strands’ (my 3 daughters)…thank you for being what I am MOST proud of over any business or success in life. I love you so much!
