We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashley, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
The most important thing I’ve done as a parent is lead by example. Going back to school as an adult to earn my bachelor’s degree, and now continuing my education by pursuing my master’s degree, has shown my children that it’s never too late to set goals and work toward them. I wanted them to see that success doesn’t happen overnight and that perseverance, discipline, and hard work matter.
In addition to education, I’ve also prioritized my health and fitness. Through running, training, and challenging myself physically, I’ve demonstrated the importance of commitment, self-care, and resilience. There were many times when balancing work, parenting, school, and personal goals felt overwhelming, but I kept going.
My hope is that my children remember not just what I told them, but what they saw me do. I want them to know that setbacks don’t define you, challenges can be overcome, and that they are capable of achieving their goals if they remain determined and believe in themselves. By refusing to give up on my dreams, I’ve tried to show them how to pursue their own with confidence and perseverance.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is the art of perseverance, transformation, and leading by example. While many artists express themselves through paint, music, or performance, I tell my story through the way I live my life and the impact I strive to make on others.
What sets me apart is my willingness to keep moving forward, even when the path isn’t easy. As a working mother of three, I’ve balanced the demands of family, career, education, and personal growth while refusing to let challenges define my future. I returned to school as an adult, earned my bachelor’s degree with honors, and am now pursuing classes to obtain my master’s degree. At the same time, I’ve embraced fitness and running, pushing myself beyond limits I once thought were impossible.
I am most proud of the example I have set for my children. They have watched me study late into the night, wake up early to train, overcome setbacks, and continue pursuing goals despite obstacles. I want them to understand that success is not about being perfect, it’s about being resilient, adaptable, and committed to growth.
Getting to where I am today was far from easy. There were moments of self-doubt, financial challenges, exhaustion, and times when balancing multiple responsibilities felt overwhelming. What helped me overcome those challenges was remembering my “why.” I stayed focused on the future I wanted to create for myself and my family. I learned to take things one step at a time, celebrate small victories, and keep going even when progress felt slow.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that growth happens outside of your comfort zone. The things that seem impossible today can become your greatest accomplishments if you’re willing to remain consistent and trust the process. I’ve also learned that setbacks are not failures, they are opportunities to learn, adjust, and come back stronger.
What I want the world to know about me and my story is that ordinary people can accomplish extraordinary things. You don’t need perfect circumstances to pursue your dreams. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin. If my journey represents anything, it’s the power of perseverance, self-belief, and refusing to give up on yourself.
My brand is built on authenticity, resilience, and continuous growth. I hope my story inspires others to chase their goals, embrace challenges, and realize that it’s never too late to become the person they aspire to be.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to visit for a week, we’d definitely take a road trip. I’m a nature girl at heart, so instead of spending all our time in the city, I’d want to show them some of the most beautiful places California has to offer.
We’d start by driving up the coast on the Pacific Coast Highway, stopping at scenic overlooks, hidden beaches, and small coastal towns along the way. We’d spend time walking on the beach, watching sunsets, and enjoying fresh local food.
One of our stops would be Big Sur. The combination of ocean views, cliffs, redwood forests, and hiking trails is absolutely breathtaking. We’d spend the day exploring, taking pictures, and simply appreciating the beauty of nature.
I’d also want to take them to Yosemite National Park. There’s something inspiring about standing beneath giant granite cliffs, waterfalls, and ancient trees. It’s a place that reminds you how incredible and powerful nature can be.
Because I love being active, we’d fit in some hiking, morning walks, and maybe even a run with scenic views. Some of my favorite memories are made outdoors, where you can disconnect from the noise of everyday life and reconnect with yourself.
The evenings would be spent around a campfire, stargazing, sharing stories, and enjoying the simple moments that often become the most memorable. No rushing, no strict schedule, just good company, beautiful scenery, and adventure.
The people I’d want them to meet are the ones who embrace life, love the outdoors, and aren’t afraid to try something new. The places I’d want them to see are the ones that make you stop, take a deep breath, and appreciate the world around you.
If there’s one thing I’d want my friend to leave with after that week, it would be a renewed sense of wonder and appreciation for nature. Some of life’s greatest experiences aren’t found in crowded tourist attractions, they’re found on a trail, beside a waterfall, watching a sunset, or simply enjoying the journey.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my children. They have been my biggest motivation and the driving force behind many of the goals I’ve pursued. Every late night studying, every early morning run, and every challenge I’ve pushed through was fueled by my desire to create a better future and set a positive example for them.
I would also like to recognize my family especially my mom, she’s has always been there and continues to be there every step of the way, friends, professors, and mentors who encouraged me throughout my educational journey. Their support, guidance, and belief in me helped me continue moving forward during times when balancing work, parenting, school, and personal goals felt overwhelming.
Finally, I’d like to give credit to the communities that have inspired me along the way whether through education, fitness, or personal growth. Seeing others persevere through challenges reminded me that growth happens when we step outside our comfort zones and refuse to give up.
None of us achieve success entirely on our own. My story is the result of the love, encouragement, and support I’ve received from many people, and I am incredibly grateful for each of them.
