Meet Tiffany Stoker | Film & TV Production Designer, Performer and Deep Singing Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Stoker and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tiffany, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I didn’t realize I had my own business until I had to file my taxes. It never occurred to me to ‘work’ for myself, I just had the mindset of wanting to love what I do ever since I was a little girl. I was an actress (singer, bartender etc) for years until I realized, even when I was in my ‘dream role’ of jobs, I saw the bigger orchestration of every environment. I had opinions. I didn’t just participate in gigs, I watched how they operated and thought I could do it better.
I’m never one to supercede someone else’s path, but the moment inspired me. If I could complain about someone else’s rules, I might as well have the gall to make my own. Listen, I wasn’t finding the life I wanted, so my cozy-self realized it was time to create it.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart is my range of experience. Every part of my life has informs another, leaving me with no choice but to marry them all together. Theatre & voice training with yoga and group singing…and meditation, for example.
Or why I understood detail in depth as a set designer because I’m trained as an actress.
I’m Proud of turning rejection and disappointment into opportunity.
For choosing not to suffer through an industry I always said I wanted to be a part of.
It’s because my dreams didn’t happen the way I expected, that my life is honestly so much cooler than I could have ever imagined.
My setbacks and heartbreak lead me to write, produce & star alongside my best friend, Shannon Hamm in our pilot for the TV series, ‘Burnout’.
I didn’t know film, I was a theatre kid. When we decided to make Burnout for film I PAd on a web series, and the production designer appreciated my help. I wouldn’t have had a set design career for the past 8 years if I wasn’t assigning my purpose in the environment. I went in, just trying to learn everything. How could I run a show if I knew nothing about show running? And that attitude has helped me everywhere. I can learn everywhere. Stop thinking you know everything, stay open to take in new information.
The biggest theme that didn’t feel ‘easy’ was always the rejection. I’ve always had an innerstanding of my fate. Maybe it’s shifted in vision but I’ve always craved a big life.
and
Time has been the best gift in the world.
It took me years of learning myself before I understood my unique system of discipline/dedication to my own existence. I finally woke up and decided to play for my own team. And the belief in myself has made the difference.
Oh, and don’t be afraid of looking stupid, What other people say about you is truly none of your business. It’s no one else’s job to accomplish your dreams and the good news is you CAN do it because it’s YOUR dream.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Can I be honest? I am not a planner when it comes to social interactions. I truly open my arms and say, “lets go” when I’m with my trusted circle. To know my community is so much fun in that way is so amazing. I trust and let them make the decision. I’m happy to weigh in if we need an opinion and to that I will alway say LIVE THEATRE. LIVE MUSIC LIVE COMEDY. Go see live, real human beings making art. I love it all I will truly take a night out on the town with my loved ones and do whatever if it’s what they love and I’m safe.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
As far as giving credit where it’s due I have many people to thank. The leader at the helm is absolutely my mother, Barbara Bellamy. She is the definition of unconditional love and unwaveringly supportive of whatever my happiness looks like.
I was able to participate in every show in every neighboring town growing up, dance classes when we had no money, voice lessons because she knew I had a gift.
My mother bestowed the love of music and it’s healing power upon me. Most of all, she raised me in a community of kindness. She’s the reason I knew an unfathomably adoring church family in Ohio. Her exposing me to so many communities of creativity and love influenced the icons I have been lucky enough to experience throughout my life.
She’s the reason I know I can do anything that’s in my heart. She’s the reason I always remember my light.
