We had the good fortune of connecting with Natasha Maxwell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Natasha, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The idea for creating a digital agency that services wellness brands came about shortly after our world shutdown due to COVID. I saw a need for guidance and strategic positioning for coaches and small businesses who were struggling with adapting to the new world of virtual and online services. From working in the health industry these past 6 years I felt I could bridge the knowledge and expertise I had in business building and retention with the 5 years of brand marketing experience I had before that. Who better than someone who’s been on both sides to help these brands reinvent, stand out in a sea of others, and get clear on who they want to help and what problem they solve for them?
What should our readers know about your business?
My business specializes in helping a brand stand out from the crowd. By doing this we cut down on the distractions of competitors and get the brand where it most wants to be- in direct contact with its ideal clients. If your business values growth and staying ahead of its competition, then my services are for you. I specialize in servicing wellness and lifestyle brands that: a) are looking to connect and sell to their ideal customers, b) are in the process of reinventing their current brand in order to grow and expand their business, or c) are a new business/coach/personal brand needing help with overall social media strategy and market positioning. What is most rewarding is seeing the pay-off of brand clarity and reinvention. Clients’ high engagement rates and sales conversions are a wonderful consequence of their social media and website strategies. I’ve been inspiring go-getters since 2006. Former experience includes Fossil Inc, Club Monaco, Equinox Sports Club, USA Today, Buzzfeed, Ford Modeling Agency, and Women’s Health Magazine. None of this was easy to build and at the same time it wasn’t difficult. My biggest learning moments came from having to reteach myself PR agency life and what it was like when I worked in corporate branding before. I cracked open old grad school books; I reached out to former coworkers. I truly believe when you love what you do and you’re doing it for the good of others, the rest just falls into place. That’s how this digital agency conception feels to me- like it was meant to be and fell into place for me.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When my friends from Florida would come into town to visit (pre-covid), I always loved taking them to the hike up to the Griffith Observatory which is one of my favorite places in all of LA. At some point in the week, we’d visit the Getty Center and Venice Beach too. Restaurants would include Izakaya, Il Cielo, Wally’s, and a fun rooftop vibe somewhere like EP&LP. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are many people in my life who’ve helped in small and large ways- my friends, my parents and sister, my colleagues who’ve pushed and inspired me to grow and continue to improve, former managers that i’ve had.
