We had the good fortune of connecting with David Logan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi David, do you have a budget? How do you make lifestyle and spending decisions?
I do have a budget! I record every purchase I make on a weekly basis. Sometimes it helps laying everything out and seeing the totals for the week. I log items by categories so I can track my purchases month to month, but I am not hard on myself if I overspend. I just make a conscious effort to spend less the next week.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We developed and released our first game Whispering Willows in 2014. It was a fantastic experience creating the product, but as a new developer we were a bit green on the marketing and distribution, and so initially it didn’t sell as well as we would have liked. For our next game it was important to think about not only the development, but also how to create a product that’s sellable, and then how to execute the marketing properly. Developers often see the finish line as finishing development on their game, but really the finish line needs to be after you release the game, or even long after that if you plan on continuing to support it post-launch. In addition to having proper marketing campaigns now, we also strive to support our titles long after release, including Whispering Willows which we continue to bring to new platforms, most recently Nintendo Switch.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Good food and drink is important to me! So I’d make sure to plan visits to several of my favorite spots including The Local Peasant and The One Up (which is great because you can play arcade games as well). One of the nights we’d head to Lost Spirits Distillery, which is described as the “Willy Wonka of booze.” I love escape rooms, so we’d find the latest trending one, or we could go to Two Bit Circus in downtown LA which is sort of a combination of everything above – quality food and drink, arcade games, and it even has an escape room inside the building. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to give a shoutout to my economics teacher in High School who inspired me to be an entrepreneur, and my first boss out of college who helped me realize my skillset as a producer.
