We had the good fortune of connecting with Anthony McRae and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anthony, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I believe that the bigger the risk, the bigger the reward. So in my life I’ve only ever taken big risks for my career. Risks to me are opportunities, for you to learn about yourself. Risks help you learn about the person you’re becoming, your work ethic, your habits, and what kind of career you will create for yourself. You have to be willing to take the biggest risk for your dreams, knowing that tomorrow you might now see the progress from those risks. Once a person can accept all that comes with risks, I believe possibilities are limitless. Each year I present myself with bigger risks and bigger obstacles, and each year I’ve have overcame them and became more successful than the predecessor (past years).

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I would say i have an incredible work ethic because of how I was raised and grew up. I’m a 6’3, tall black kid and being that height and with that background ethnically and culturally, means that i automatically stand out from other people. On top of that I wear my hair as an Afro or in Twists and that adds a lot of character to me and gives the standout feature. I’m very proud to have worked with marvel for Venom. This project was such a pleasure to have helped with the works of Eminems vision, and Stan Lee’s vision. I am grateful for all my opportunities, and I carry a determined and perseverance attitude, that I believe this is one of the main reasons for me getting to where I am. I didn’t allow rejection, doubt, or fear conquer what I thought of myself, or what I know I am capable of. I work very hard for everything I do, and it’s because of my work ethic that I am able to achieve more each year. Nothing worth achieving in my career has been easy, but I don’t think anything in life whether work related or personal life, is easy to achieve but well worth the hard work. Sometimes these challenges I face in my work creates moments where you can feel low energy or negative about work, but I just remember everything that grounds me. I remember where I come from, where I’m going, and also who supports me in my life. All of my trials and tribulations have taught me that I need to patient about work and life, because everything thats meant for you is meant for you and you can never mess up what’s already yours. I’ve also learned that as long as you’re working at your career and dreams, even if you don’t see progress you are progressing. I would want the world to know that I don’t let anything or anyone define what i will be, or what i can and can’t do. I am my creator for my path of success and everything is a direct result of me. I keep learning, keep growing, keep pushing, and keep working hard no matter what happens. If it was easy there wouldn’t be so few to do it, and everyone would be great. I will push myself to be recognized as one of the greats and hardest working people. So, see you at work!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take my best friend to Laguna beach because the water is much clearer there and more beautiful as far as distinction with colors. I would start there and show them local restaurants and also get gelato from the popular shop there. The next day we can plan movies or something fun like bowling, and then go get pizza after wards and some Ice tea since no soda is in our diets. The next few days after this will be more chill, we would sun bathe or go to the pool, eat homemade meals, and play video games or watch movies at home. Then by Saturday and Sunday I’d take them to a mountain view at night to see the beauty of what the city can look like far away and with all the lights gleaming at us like a shimmering smile. Most likely have deep talks during these moments and prepare for saying goodbye I think some places to go look at are art museums, or random art for specific places around cities. one example of this is Lacma, or the light tunnel in chinatown. I am more simpler than most people, so i enjoy a lot of outdoors activities especially if I get to be in the sun or sun bathe. I also enjoy activities such as paintball and laser tag, which are also great places to check. If I had to suggest anything, I would tell people to not stick with typical tourist attractions and to go to local shops and see venues and different places. Just explore everything around tourists hotspots. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I definitely want to give a shout out to my nana and my mom who have raised me to be the man that i am. They have taught me to have a great work ethic and be very disciplined. To always stand up for what I believe in and to never let anyone tell me I can’t do something. The women in my family made sure that i knew that I will achieve anything that i believe in and put my mind to. I am always growing to be better, smarter, and stronger. “Dirt blossoms Beauty” Also want to recognize Madiana for showing me love and support since the first day we met and motivating me to push harder and go further. She has made sure i push every limit to reach my dreams as well, as well as push myself to surpass the current status quo
