Originally I was homeless and living in the back of my car. I had just turned 18, escaped an abusive household, and pretty much had nowhere else to look or turn to. I had a friend who made himself a mask to conceal his identity as an artist. So initially I turned to him to ask for any suggestions, without hesitation he made my first mask, and since then I started grabbing blanks and decorating from there. I experimented with as many styles as I could with such a limited supply of equipment, since I was making them out of my car. Then when I perfected my technique, people started looking into them. Madison Martina | Model, Kamari Swim founder, designer & CEO
I came up with the idea of Kamari Swim a few years ago, but honestly it has always been something I’ve wanted to do. Inspiration for the swimwear brand began at an early age for me– growing up in Florida, I practically lived in a swimsuit, which initiated my love for fashion and swimwear. You could say I haven’t looked back since. I’m proud to have developed an idea and designed every piece from Kamari. Swim, offering women a sultry and multi-functional swimwear line of swimsuit styles and coverups available in bold colors and tropical prints. Read more>>

When I was 7 years old, my mother lost her mind and both of my parents were addicted to drugs, so I was sent to live with strangers in foster homes. This early childhood trauma led me to realize how important mental health is for humanity. Years later, when I was 18 years old I was hit by a car going 45 mph while riding my bike. That impact lead me to develop scoliosis of the spine and doctors all told me there was nothing that can heal that. I would have to live with the pain for my whole life they said. A few years later, at 24 years old I went through a period of depression that lasted a year. I had lost all enthusiasm for life and didn’t know my life purpose. Read more>>
Kevin Waters | CEO & Co-Founder
My goal was/is to create a platform for the formerly incarcerated and other underserved populations to successfully transition into their independence through teaching a series of life skills classes and employment readiness skills. The process of transitioning into independence is overlooked by many organizations in that there is a belief that getting a person employment or reintegrating them into a relationship will lead to a healthy acclimation. The reality is that without addressing traumas, emotional intelligence, and how to resolve conflict in a healthy manner many successes will be short lived. This concern birthed Dream Live Hope Foundation with a myriad of wrap around services taught by people with lived experience. Read more>>
