We had the good fortune of connecting with Food With Bros Robert Bui & Kha Truong and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Food With Bros, what do you attribute your success to?
It’s hard for us to say that there’s one clear cut factor behind our success because there’s been so many elements that’s contributed to our growth and success. We would feel bad if we left out any factors that has helped us and not talk about them because without them, we probably wouldn’t be where we are today. Putting in CONSISTENT work was what allowed for our brand to grow to where it is today. Just show up. Looking to improve each and every day is important for growth and that’s what we feel helped get our brand to be where it is today. Even on days where we didn’t feel like doing the work, we did it anyways. Hard work and having fun is what we always try to do. We like to keep things light and have fun because we have to enjoy what we’re doing in order for us to continue our growth. It kind of goes hand in hand with one another. Work and fun is really what we try to implement every time because when things get too serious, it takes the fun away. Building relationships and being social has really been an important factor as well. Ever since we started in 2019, we’ve cultivated plenty of relationships with other bloggers and restaurants. We’ve made numerous friends and having the support of the community has really been important to us and it helps us to keep going. We’ve been fortunate to have met and worked with so many great people that it’s helped us to have fun during the process. We just feel lucky that people have enjoyed what we’ve done and think that we do good work and it genuinely brings a smile to our faces. Staying true to ourselves is another important factor. We never tried to be like anyone else because we’ve always wanted to do it our way and not let outside influences affect our growth. Whether it’s taking pictures or coming up with clever captions, we always do it with our flavor because it keeps things original and we feel like our followers like that. Sure, we have also learned certain ways to do things from others, but we always put our own little spin on it to make it feel like it’s a Food With Bros joint. Honestly, the last factor is curiosity. Curiosity of food. We like to explore, find and eat all kinds of food that it keeps things feeing new and fresh. Southern California is such a melting pot of different foods that there’s always something new to eat. When you try something new that you’ve never eaten before and that flavor hits your taste buds and it becomes a great experience, that is such a good feeling. There’s so much out there to explore that it’s definitely going to be a journey, but it’s a journey that we love to be on because the search for awesome tasting food is always on the horizon.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We are Food With Bros and we are foodies/food bloggers from the Orange County and Los Angeles areas. We love to explore and eat food and we love to take pictures of food and share our food adventures with our followers. We’re proud of the way we can help people discover their new favorite restaurant and we’re always excited for someone to try out a place that we recommend. Tons of hard work, having fun, building relationships, having tremendous support and staying true to ourselves has helped us to be where we are today. Sure there’s been challenges, but it’s nothing we couldn’t handle. The challenges have kept things new and made us learn and grow.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
There’s so much food that we would recommend, but here are some that we really like and we keep going back to. Howlin Rays, The Vox Kitchen, Bunz, Red Rock, Protein Lab, Omomo Tea Shoppe, Los Cotijas, Super Birria, Bubble & Leaf, Hironori Ramen, Marugame Udon, Bakers & Baristas, Matiki Island BBQ, Da Hawaiian Kitchen, Paderia Bakehouse, Snooze Eatery, Tastea.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Man there’s been so many people and restaurants that we’ve worked with that it’s hard to name everyone. Some of the restaurants that have helped us early on are Clyde’s Hot Chicken, Bred’s Hot Chicken, Protein Lab, and Bubble & Leaf for working with us early on. Shout out to Cody at Klimps Customs for making our hats. He does great work so check him out if you need any custom apparel done. There’s been so many other food bloggers that has helped and it would be hard to name them all, but they know who they are. Shout out to all of our friends and followers as well who keep on supporting us because without them, we couldn’t have done this.
