We had the good fortune of connecting with Gigi Robinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gigi, what do you attribute your success to?
I would say the most important factor behind the success of my brand has been figuring out how to use my creativity in positive ways to benefit people within certain communities that I identify with. That mainly comes from fundamental design and branding ideation that I have spent the past few years chopping up. I focus on creating content for college students, people with chronic illness, clean beauty and overall working in a creative field. Some thing that I do every single day is teach myself how to learn a new style of content, new editing process, or even just watching a YouTube video from a different creator to see what’s popular right now. The main focus of being a content creator and growing my brand all ties back to how can I help other people and improve their lives while living my own. Time for you to find your purpose!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
To get where I am, I have continuously taught myself how to network, how to be outgoing, how to learn from others, how to implement a generalized strategy into my own brand, how to share your success with others to help them succeed to, how to negotiate, how to stand up for yourself and your value as a creator. And no, it was not easy…if it was easy everyone would be doing it. My content is driven to raise awareness for the chronic illness community, to educate college students about potential opportunities to take advantage of during college, to the clean beauty industry and to anyone looking to HUSTLE. I am self taught and driven to achieve the most that I can. I have found ways to create content for a myriad of brands to highlight my photography and digital marketing skillsets. Too often, creators are thought of as a joke. The advertising world and digital marketing industry is changing dramatically right now. The idea of individual creators making tailored advertisements to their following, versus having general in house ads made by large corporations is still very new. It doesn’t have respect yet, but I do think very soon that will change. At first, I thought that my worth as a creator, photographer and marketing expert was based off of my age. I was wrong. It is based off of experience and ability to deliver to a client. Over the last 8 years I have been perfecting my craft as a photographer, continuously finding ways to be innovative and deliver content that makes anyone feel confident. My goal as a creator has since transitioned to focus my efforts towards helping others grow in any way possible. Since I rebranded and gave my brand a purpose, I have generated over 8K on instagram @itsgigirobinson, 2K on Facebook @Gabrielle Robinson and 115K on TikTok @Gigi.jpg .

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If a friend was visiting me in LA, first I would give them a tour of my college campus, the University of Southern California. I would then hop on the Metro and take it right to Santa Monica. It is so fun to walk the boardwalk, 3rd street promenade and just enjoy the neighborhood. If you are up for a great walk, definitely walk down to Venice and head to Gjusta Cafe or Flake for a bite! If you are looking for some outside activities, try the Wisdom Tree hike or the Baldwin Hills scenic overlook. Both are very popular, but worth the views and a great way to stay active. I would also bring anyone to a few of my favorite night life spots, Cliftons Republic, No Vacancy and Good Time at Davey Wanes.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would say there’s several different factors that have contributed to the success that I’ve had. First in for most I would think my USC Reach #ReachFam. This club of content creators and influencers has dramatically impacted my success. Both teaching me how to create content in collaborate with others in an effective way that symbiotic for all participants involved. Next I would think my friends for always pushing me to be more creative & teaching me about new social issues that I can use my creative skills to speak up on. I would also like to thank my professors and teachers encouraging me to utilize my creativity and make a difference in the world.
