Interview with Fady Jeanbart: Director of The Caretaker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Fady Jeanbart and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Can you start by giving us a brief overview of the film?
Thank you for having me! The Caretaker is an action thriller that centers on Gina, a young woman with a mysterious past, who finds herself stranded in a ghost town tourist attraction. There, she encounters the reclusive caretaker, played by Robert Bronzi, who has his own secrets. As a ruthless crime boss sends goons after her, the caretaker steps up to protect her. It’s a classic good versus evil story, with plenty of action and emotional depth.
What drew you to this project and what do you hope to bring to the film as its director?
I was really attracted to the characters and the dynamic between them. The relationship between Gina and the caretaker is central to the story. I hope to bring a strong emotional core to the action. It’s important for audiences to not only enjoy the thrills but also connect with the characters on a deeper level.
Robert Bronzi, Daniel Baldwin and Avaryana Rose are leading the cast. What do you think they bring to their respective roles?
Robert Bronzi brings an incredible presence and a unique style that is perfectly suited for the caretaker character. He expertly embodies both the tough exterior and the vulnerability required for the role, making him a captivating lead. We are honored that Daniel Baldwin is joining the cast, he is known for bringing a unique intensity and authenticity to his roles, Daniel’s presence promises to elevate the film to new heights. His ability to delve into complex characters and convey a broad spectrum of emotions will add a profound layer of depth to the story. With his exceptional talent and dedication to his craft, Daniel is sure to create a memorable and impactful performance, enriching the dynamic of the entire ensemble. Avaryana Rose adds a refreshing dynamic with her innocent look and natural acting style. She’s known for her remarkable performances in films like Not for Sale: Florida and Broken, where she showcased her range as an actress. Additionally, her background as a NYFW runway model and social media influencer brings a contemporary edge to her character, resonating with audiences.
We also have Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson with his background as a MMA fighter joining the cast. His charisma and authenticity in the sidekick role will not only enhance the film but also bring a physicality that complements Robert’s character beautifully. The chemistry among the four of them is fantastic, and it truly elevates the story.
I feel incredibly fortunate to have Jeff Miller as our producer. He’s a member of the Producers Guild of America and has produced nearly 40 feature films, many of which have achieved international distribution through platforms like NBCUniversal and Lionsgate. His experience with films like Angels Fallen and Kill ‘Em All speaks to his ability to create quality content.
The screenplay is by Joe Knetter, who has an impressive history, including contributions to iconic projects like Twilight of the Dead, the last film in George A. Romero’s legendary series. Our consulting producer, Dylan Matlock, who brings additional credibility to our team with his experience as a producer, particularly for the film Mass, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.
Fady, collaborating with an experienced producer like Jeff Miller, who has a track record of successful international films, what insights has he shared that have influenced your approach to The Caretaker?
Jeff has been an incredible resource throughout this process. His extensive experience in producing international films has taught me the importance of not just crafting a compelling story, but also understanding the market and audience expectations. He emphasizes the need for strong character development alongside action, which aligns perfectly with my vision for The Caretaker. His insights into distribution strategies have also been invaluable, ensuring we’re creating a film that resonates with viewers globally.
With Jeff’s extensive experience in the industry, including his work on projects like ANGELS FALLEN and KILL ‘EM ALL, how do you feel his vision and expertise will shape the overall direction and production quality of The Caretaker?
Jeff’s vision brings a level of professionalism and clarity that is essential in filmmaking. His track record of working with top-tier talent and delivering films that perform well internationally sets a high standard. I believe his expertise will elevate The Caretaker in terms of production quality and storytelling. He has a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of what makes a film successful, which gives me confidence that we’ll be able to create something truly special together.
Can you tell us more about the storyline and the themes you’ll be exploring in The Caretaker?
Absolutely! At its core, the film explores themes of redemption and the lengths one will go to protect someone they care about. The ghost town setting symbolizes isolation and the past that both Gina and the caretaker must confront. The action sequences are thrilling, but the emotional stakes are what truly drive the narrative.
What do you hope audiences take away from The Caretaker when it’s finally released?
I hope audiences after watching the film feel entertained and emotionally fulfilled. I want them to root for the characters and feel the tension of the story. Ultimately, it’s about the journey of these characters and their growth amidst chaos, and I want viewers to resonate with that.
