Meet Justin Hanassab | Attorney at Law

We had the good fortune of connecting with Justin Hanassab and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Justin, what do you want your legacy to be?
I just want to be in a position to help as many people as possible while doing what I love. As an attorney, I get to stand up for individuals who have been mistreated, exploited or damaged by others with overwhelming power and resources. That is the most rewarding work for me. I want to be remembered as a lawyer for the people—someone who fought for the “Davids” against the “Goliaths” both in and out the courtroom

What should our readers know about your business?
We are a group of young but experienced employment attorneys dedicated to representing employees who have been mistreated in the workplace. Our practice ranges from all types of employment disputes, including sexual harassment, wrongful termination, discrimination, whistle-blower retaliation, and many more.
Our goal is not to be a huge law firm with hundreds of cases and dozens of lawyers. Our business model is different. We take on a very limited number of cases, which allows us to be intimately involved and maximize the potential of each case. Our clients become our friends and even family. That is my favorite part about our service. Yes, we are experts and professionals, but we are also friends and alleys. Many lawyers will tell you that as a rule of thumb, they don’t get emotionally invested in their cases. I strongly disagree with that. For us to take a case, we MUST be emotionally invested in it because that is exactly what allows us to fight like we are protecting one of our own.
What I am most proud of is our ability to tell a story. We truly love what we do here and that shows in our work product. We foster a deep passion for representing the “little guy” and giving a voice to the voiceless. This allows us to really put ourselves in the client’s shoes and be in the best position to fight for them. We often hear from our clients that they are amazed at how we are able to tell their story in a way that truly encapsulates the harm they suffered. For a client to read your work product or watch you fight for them in court, and then tell you that they are extremely proud to have you represent them is one of the greatest feelings you can experience as a lawyer.
Losing your job or being mistreated at work is always a scary thing, especially when it’s by a person or company with overwhelming power or money. Most people struggle to find the courage to stand up for themselves in these situations. We want these people to know that they do not have to go through this alone. Everyone has rights and should be well-informed about what those rights are and how to exercise them. Because at the end of the day, people are just looking for someone to stick up for them. That’s what we do.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout goes to my mentor and friend – Dan Stormer. Dan has been one of the leading civil rights and employment trial lawyers in the country for the last 40 years. I worked for Dan shortly during law school and since I opened my own firm, he has given me invaluable advice and guidance on my path to becoming a trial lawyer. My firm is currently co-counseling with Dan’s firm, Hadsell Stormer Renick & Dai, on three cases which are scheduled for trial in the next few months.
