We had the good fortune of connecting with Abha Sharma and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Abha, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Growing up I struggled with being overweight, as a result of poor eating habits and a sedentary lifestyle. This weak foundation for health carried over into my young adult years; pressure to lose weight and fit a certain body ideal led me to seek out restrictive eating patterns mixed with binge eating. Towards the end of graduate school, I realized that I was not being kind to my own body with the lifestyle that I was leading. Around the same time, I got a real wake up call, when family members were diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and Premature Heart Disease – conditions for which being overweight and inactive are risk factors. At that point, I knew I had to make a change. I embarked upon a journey of discovering how to eat healthy, and made it my mission to find ways to be active. By my mid 20’s, I was at a healthier weight than I was in my teens. This quest to be my healthiest self has taken me through the past 10+ years. It has been my healthy mindset that has allowed me to continue to be my healthiest self through it all. Now, as a Professional Working Mom in her 40’s , I understand the constant balancing act between work, being a parent, and being a spouse. Guiding women just like me to live their healthiest life has been a passion of mine, and what inspired me to start Health Has No Finishline LLC – I bring wisdom from my personal journey AND the scientifically proven Precision Nutrition Methodology.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The journey professionally has been smooth as I have the support of colleagues in the same industry as well as other mompreneurs. My approach with my clients starts with the Mindset – everything from relationship with food as a child, stress management, to body image and language around food. It is only once we have worked through limiting beliefs do we approach Nutrition and Physical Fitness. Health Has No Finishline LLC’s vision is a world where health is a journey into a woman’s greatness.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The places you could go in a week – what I love about living in Southern California! The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted may of the places we love to go, but these are some of my favorite places to go and take out of town friends to: The Magic Castle is always a great time – getting dolled up, delicious food and of course the shows! Dinner at The Royce at the Langham in Pasadena after a nice day at the spa! The Americana at Brand – good food, shopping, a ride on The Trolley and enjoy a beautiful show at The Fountain. Brunch at Urth Caffe and Vroman’s Bookstore in Pasadena afterwards And we can’t leave out Santa Monica Pier – but first, brunch at The Penthouse at The Huntley Hotel.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
