We had the good fortune of connecting with Adam Horner and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Adam, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I’ve always been very creative, but I’ve always been very left brain too. I feel like I’m more center brain! Which is why I fell in love with production. Growing up I did so many creative things, which was a lot of fun, but I didn’t ever feel like I was using my full potential. When I found producing, I really found my full potential and felt as if I had found something that really plays to all of my strengths.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
One thing that I’m always very excited about is the new technology that is available to us these days in the film industry. The latest and greatest being the Virtual Production side of things which I dove head first into the deep end on! I’m constantly on the look out for new things that allows us as filmmakers to do our jobs better, quicker and easier. Virtual production is certainly one of those things. And it was not an easy thing to wrap my head around. The tech is still so new that things are changing and being upgraded daily. We have a few up coming shoots that are fully Virtual and I’m really excited about those. I think within quite a short time frame, we’re going to see a lot more virtual productions and I’m excited to be at the forefront!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh man, there are so many. It really depends on the friend. If they’re a nerd like I am, the science center to see the Space Shuttle! Any filmmaker friends, I would start off by giving them a tour of the Virtual Production Studios!!! Friends who have no interest in film, I would take out for a nice dinner, and then perhaps a bar crawl to some rooftop bars with epic views. I love a good view!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m going to be super cliche here and say my parents. Both have been incredibly supportive throughout my career. I would not be here today without them both!
