We had the good fortune of connecting with Adam Khattar and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Adam, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The Most important factor is that I’m not scared to try and fail. It’s easy to say you want to be an actor or start a business, but the hard part is actually going for it. Most people are afraid they’ll mess up, but if you don’t mess up, you won’t really move ahead in life. When I decided I wanted to act, I was scared to even say it. Where I come from in the Middle East, acting isn’t popular. So, saying I wanted to study acting abroad and take that risk wasn’t normal. At first, people around me didn’t take me seriously – they thought acting was just a hobby. I was scared of failing and hearing them say, “I told you so, you wasted your time and money.” But then I asked myself, “What if I make it?” and “Why can’t I?” Other people in the industry made it, so why not me? I took the chance despite not being 100% sure I loved acting deeply. When I got here, I realized this was the life I wanted. It’s tough, not easy at all, but I love it. I love taking risks, and I’ll do whatever it takes to make it. I’m still working really hard and I’m not where I want to be yet – it’s just the beginning. But I’m proud of where I am today, and I want to make my younger self proud too, someday.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I don’t merely label myself an ‘actor,’ though that’s the term commonly used. I see myself as a human being seeking to share my art, infusing life into characters and conveying poignant messages to audiences within every story I bring to life. My journey to where I stand today is grounded in a profound self-belief, an understanding that each of us arrives in this world for a purpose, regardless of our fields of expertise. I completed my Associate Degree in Acting for Film, a stepping stone that has led me to remarkable opportunities.
One of my notable accomplishments is my participation in the Hollywood movie ‘Holiday Twist,’ set to be released soon. This film features a stellar cast including Neal McDonough, Sean Astin, Kelly Stables, and Emily Tosta, among others. In this project, I Played the role of Ezra. and Also I’m An Executive Producer on this project. Working alongside such talented individuals, it’s an honor.
Further, I had the privilege of acting in the feature film ‘Thank You For Banking With Us,’ filmed in Palestine and directed by Laila Abbas. Here, I portrayed Ali, the son of the main character, a role that allowed me to delve into unique narratives and perspectives.
My journey has only just begun, yet I’m fueled by a determination to explore the depths of storytelling and artistry. It’s about merging life’s purpose with creative expression, and I’m committed to making every endeavor count.
