Meet Adden Laughlin | Senior Manager at Additive Creative Partners (a Wheelhouse company)

We had the good fortune of connecting with Adden Laughlin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Adden, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I genuinely believe the most important factor behind the success of any business is the quality of the team. Apart from having a strong work ethic and of course, a strong set of relevant skills, I believe enthusiasm, excitement, and collaboration are what fuel real success. We are lucky enough to have that within our small Additive team, which allows us to have a significant impact for our clients, and is what keeps us coming to work every day with a smile and positive attitude.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have been working with the same senior leadership team since I started my career after college and have followed them across three different companies. This has allowed me to have the rare opportunity to work across so many different areas of the entertainment business. I’ve worked in television development and production, and have been able to learn how that side of the industry operates. I’ve also worked in event activations, talent management, digital content creation, brand partnerships, branded content and more.

In my career, I’ve been a part of several company launches – including Wheelhouse and its multiple divisions, such as the digital and audio arm Wheelhouse DNA and Additive – and while that has been extremely rewarding and exciting (especially given my entrepreneurial spirit), I’ve also dealt with my fair share of challenges. This has made me incredibly nimble and agile as I navigate different obstacles. It has also pushed me to be more creative with problem solving and generating new opportunities.

The biggest lesson I have learned is to find multiple solutions to a problem – this has allowed me to try things out, fail, pick myself back up and continue to work at it until I get it right. I think that is the true spirit of entrepreneurship – you have to fail a lot to learn how to succeed!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m a West Side girl, so my weekends always revolve around the beach! Post beach, I highly recommend a drink at The Whalar – which is a fun bar right on the beach in Venice. For dinner my fav places to go by me are Scopa, Kazunori, or Cafe Gratitude (if you are feeling a healthy Vegan moment!). If you are up for a little drive, Moonshadows restaurant in Malibu is one of the most beautiful seafood dinners you can have in LA. Make sure you ask for a table outside, so the only view you have is of the entire Pacific Ocean!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’ve had the privilege of working with my colleague Michael Senzer for the better part of three years now. I was one of the people who helped launch Wheelhouse DNA and Additive and Michael joined us in 2022. He has amazing experience, and an incredible skill set, and the synergy and respect we have for each other has resulted in the clear growth of Additive. To have someone that I can rely on to not only support me, but also challenge me in moments, has resulted in enormous growth for myself both professionally and personally. I am extremely grateful for Michael’s partnerships and could not do this day-to-day without him!
