We had the good fortune of connecting with Addison O’Connor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Addison, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
Always keep going! Even when things get hard, I always remind myself that it won’t stay like this forever. I fully believe in my heart that if something is meant for me, it will work out – as long as I keep working toward it and stay positive and motivated.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have a tough time defining myself but technically I’m a Photographer, Writer, Producer and Content Creator. I’ve always been working in the Entertainment Industry (even when I was working full-time jobs in the corporate world) but over this last year is when I finally was able to transition into working in the industry full-time and as a Freelancer. It’s definitely had it’s ups and downs but it’s pretty crazy looking back because each thing I’ve done and been through has brought me to where I am today. I don’t think I could even begin to list out all of the lessons I’ve learned along the way but most importantly, I would say, I’ve learned to listen to my instincts and trust the path that God has put me on. If I gave up when things got hard, I wouldn’t have lasted this long. But the excitement about what is to come is what keeps me motivated and looking forward.

I’m most excited about this year because I’ve had the opportunity to truly connect with so many other creatives and start putting my own work out into the world and I’m just getting started – so I can’t wait to see what else comes my way.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When my friends or family come to visit, I love to give them the full Los Angeles experience – especially if they have never been here before. I like to take people to Griffith Observatory, Lake Hollywood to see the Hollywood sign up close, of course all of the iconic spots like the TCL Chinese Theatre, Warner Brothers Lot, The Paramount Water Tower, make our way down Sunset Blvd., Beverly Hills Hotel, etc. I also love driving my friends past all of the many different places I’ve lived since moving here. But after all of that, I like to take people to the East Side for a bit and then show them the West Side and drive down PCH to Malibu.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family and my close friends. Truly, I wouldn’t be where I am right now without the love and support of my parents – especially these last four years in LA. The last few years have been years of growth but definitely not without it’s fair share of ups and downs and I wouldn’t have made it through some of the more difficult times without my family. And the friends who constantly support me, lift me up and work with me on growing and reaching our goals.
