We had the good fortune of connecting with Adele Gilani and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Adele, let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My paintings are nature scenes except I use a lot of glitter, neon and where a lot of artists will play with light, I like to play with weather. I love the symbolism of a pink sky. Personally, it reminds me of motherhood. I love a glittery leaf, reminding us that we are all stardust. If nothing else, I want my art to make people feel grateful for our existence on this planet. When I step outside I think about how much more I am given than I could ever provide and I’m in love. I want people to feel like this when they see my art. I want them to feel connected to nature and connected to me.

What is the most important factor behind your success?
My brand of art and art appreciation comes from a deep knowing that art is for everyone and we can solve big problems together as a society through our art. Art is a way our subconscious expresses that we are one. I make my artwork with this in mind, I created my gallery with this in mind and this idea of oneness is the backbone of my newsletter, Adele Delivers, where I introduce people to two artists each week with the hopes that they will connect to art on a deeper level, one artist at a time.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite place in LA is Chateau Marmot. I love the atmosphere, the stories, and the feeling that anything can happen there.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I dedicate this Shout Out to Pat Gerhard of Third Street Stuff and Coffee in Lexington, Kentucky where I worked as a barista in my 20’s and learned how art can touch every part of your life. My application was a paper bag where Pat said, use this bag to tell me about you. I had my first art show at Third Street where we sold every painting. I learned how art can anchor people as members of a community. Pat is my hero in a lot of ways. I’m grateful to have this platform to publicly thank her.
