We had the good fortune of connecting with Adeline Courrivault and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Adeline, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
The end goal is to. be able to live from it. I want to be in every house hold in the US. I plan on getting into more store and expanding my collection.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My original idea was completely different than what I do now. I wanted to create a kid line to have something more edgy than TRex tshirt. After doing a market research I realized that it was already saturated and extremely competitive. One day I went to a market in Hollywood and saw a 3D vase of a woman body. I thought it was so cool and immediately thought of a way to see something similar to mums. After some brainstorming I decided to make candles of pregnant women, and thats all it all started. I wanted to be inclusive so I added candles with every types of bodies. I also knew I wanted to incorporate my culture and where I was from. So I added lavender essential oils and flowers.
I reached out to the farmer market and after MANY attempts I was in and the rest is history. I keep adding different scents and shapes. It picked up and I am now in store at kismet collective and in two farmer markets.
It honestly wasn’t complicated. I was passionate and excited about it so I just had to follow my instincts. I have learned to trust myself and listen to others but not let them make decision for me. Everyone has an opinion but it doesn’t mean its the right one for your business. trust yourself!
I love that my products are all naturals. I pride in that. I only use essential oil, soy wax and olive oil. None of my products have chemical or alcohol in it. I try to make it accessible for everyone because we all deserve the best.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My nephew just came to town and we went to universal, echo park for the swans and Inglewood for the coffee shop. Lady Byrd cafe is one of my favorite spot.it is so unique and cute.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My run group: keep it run hundred. At the end of each running session, Butta open the circle for anyone to share their stories, promote their business or just share where they are in life. Seeing everyone sharing their journey gave me the push I needed to start my own. You really never know who is watching.
