Meet Aditya Dikka | Actor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Aditya Dikka and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aditya, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I might not have always known that I wanted to be an actor, but I’ve always had a passion for art. I’ve been interested in various forms of art since I was a kid, perhaps even from the moment I was born. During my childhood, my parents told me that I shamelessly went up on stage whenever I saw one, performing by singing or doing silly dances. I was a very lively kid, unafraid of anything in the world (except maybe ghosts and monsters). Growing up, I was also very passionate about painting. I remember I even dreamed of becoming a painter at one point. I drew a lot, did origami, and I’m quite good at it. While I consistently received low grades in Physical Education, I excelled in Art. After high school, I spent four years in university studying graphic design. I also like to practice playing musical instruments in my spare time. Now, I’m focusing my passion and career in the world of acting (both for camera and stage) and also in filmmaking. Art has always been something that attracts me, or perhaps it’s just me; I attract art.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Back in Indonesia, I joined a community called Sakti Actor Studio by Eka Sitorus, where I learned a lot of things, especially the right way to learn acting. One of the key lessons was the importance of staying true to myself instead of “pretending” to be a character. I discovered how to find those parts of myself and use the uniqueness of my “DNA” that can resonate with the character I’m portraying. Moreover, Eka emphasized the significance of not chasing awards or seeking recognition but rather focusing on creating honest, sincere, and humble work in every craft I make and every action I take. Additionally, I embraced the idea of not fearing to “be ugly” and being willing to show vulnerability on stage or in front of the camera. I seized every opportunity and approached each project with utmost seriousness while still having fun doing it.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love the sunset in LA, so I’ll mention three things I’d love to experience with you guys during that time in this city. First, we could go to Santa Monica Pier and Venice Beach on a weekday. We can enjoy a leisurely stroll along the beach, and when the sunset comes, we can wait until the sky turns dark and the lights from the ferris wheel illuminate the horizon. The next day, we could take a gentle hike at Runyon Canyon during sunset, enjoying its breathtaking views of Los Angeles, stretching from downtown LA to the coastline, and you even get to see the Hollywood sign. Lastly, we could have dinner at The Grove’s farmers market. And if you’re visiting during the month of December, we could take a walk to The Grove and see a 5-minute snow show in the evening. Simple but magical.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mom and dad deserve so much credit and recognition. I really can’t thank them enough for the love and support they’ve given me. They always believed in me, even before I believed in myself. They’ve worked tirelessly day and night just so I could have the opportunity to pursue what I truly want in life. Moreover, their unconditional acceptance of me as I am has filled me with gratitude for being born into such a loving family. My siblings have also been a great source of support; I can always count on them during my lowest moments (and even during my rock bottom). I don’t think I could ask for a better support system.
