Meet Adrian Arredondo | Hair stylist, beauty editor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Adrian Arredondo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Adrian, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
As a hair stylist and creative human being I feel more like a story teller, I believe in community and culture. Hair can tell an incredible story, show unity, celebrate important events and preserve cultural heritage. I think hair plays a significant role in our lives, influencing our thoughts, emotions, and well-being. By choosing a style that makes us feel good, we can boost our mood, express ourselves, and improve our overall quality of life.
Knowing that my craft plays a significant role in society and people’s lives is very rewarding and humbling.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
If I could describe something that set my hair art aside from others at this second, I would say it’s my dynamic and diverse approach, influenced heavily by the music culture & period performances of the early 2000’s as well as my personal connection to the surrealism movement. I graduated from Art School with a degree in Art History, but it was not until I moved to USA at the age of 21 when I fell in love with fashion and the hair industry.
I think if there is one think that keeps opening doors in my career it has to be because my consistency and professionalism and of course I never say NO to work because proudly I can say I am in love with what I do for a living.
Working in the fashion industry has some ups and downs and there’s all kinds of people involved in this big industry but staying true to yourself definitely keeps you grounded.
What excites me the most about my career is to be able to work creating looks during fashion week that I know one day will be history.
I’ve been going to Milan & Paris to work with a few designers since 2018 and learning everyday.
Above all else, I feel like everyone else with dreams and ambitions. I think telling your story is important for the new generations ahead of us.
I want to be remembered not only as a strong artist, but also warm, sensitive and inspiring.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Wow, this is a very complex question. I need to take a second to think about this one.
When my friends come into town I always make dinner at home the first night…it helps them to relax and also organize a plan to see what they feel like doing.
The perfect itinerary would be a little impromptu picnic at the Getty Villa, a long walk around Echo Park Lake with my dogs and end up at Cipriani or Tower Bar.
I love calling Los Angeles my home and there’s so much to do here but what I love the most about the city is the multi-cultural environment.
I love taking my friends to Placita Olvera, picking up great Mexican food in Boyle Heights and definitely squeezing in time for a full tanning day in Malibu. Maybe Geoffrey’s at sunset
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to credit my family for their indefinite support, my friends for countless sources of inspiration and also Joan Didion for being one of the biggest inspirations in my life.
